Nina Sue Chamberlin, 73, passed away Monday, September 21, 2009 at 10:03 AM in the Grace Village Rehab Unit, Winona Lake, Indiana.
She was born May 1, 1936 to William and Nellie (Foltz) Mathias in Mishawaka, Indiana. On November 18, 1956, also in Mishawaka, Nina became the wife of Francis “Frank” Chamberlin.
A homemaker, Nina was past president of Lake Estates Home Association. Having come from Mishawaka, she had lived in Warsaw for 10 years.
Left with special memories to cherish is her husband, Frank Chamberlin of Warsaw and son, Tracey Chamberlin of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 2 sisters: Maxine Fisher of Mishawaka and Sarah Jane (John) West of Mishawaka.
Preceding Nina’s death were 3 brothers: Earl Mathias, Robert Mathias and Billy Mathias.
A memorial mass will take place at a later date.

Winifred “Winnie” E. Cardarelli passed away Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 2:20 PM in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Indiana.
Winnie was born April 27, 1915 in Smiths Grove, Kentucky to Lorenzo Dow and Lila Pearl (Casey) Matthews.
It was on June 16, 1940 in Indianapolis, Indiana that she became the wife of Acky Cardarelli. In 1970 and after the passing of her husband, Winnie moved from Indianapolis to Leesburg.
A homemaker, Winnie was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw.
Those left to treasure precious memories are her two daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and Gary Eastlund of Leesburg and Sandra and Lars Anderson from Indianapolis; 5 grandchildren: Jeffrey and Patty Werth Anderson, Victoria and Tom Kremer, James and Jennifer Anderson – all of Indianapolis, Kip and Brook Goebel, of Granger, Indiana and Brad Goebel of Laguna Beach, California; 2 step grandchildren and their spouses: Carla and Kevin Milliman of Columbia City, Indiana and Sheryl and David Colquitt of Leesburg; 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Ray Hixon, Phoenix, Arizona and Kenneth and Mona Hixon of Galveston, Texas.
Winnie was preceded in death by her husband, Acky Cardarelli and 2 sisters: Lila Mae Dundo and Evelyn English.
On Tuesday, September 22, 2009 there will be a time of sharing with friends and family from 4-8 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 AM Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw with Msg. James Wolfe officiating. Burial will take place that afternoon in Oaklawn Cemetery Indianapolis.

Born to Edwin O. Smith and Marie (Pastore) Smith, on December 22, 1967 in Romeo, Michigan, Dominick had been a forklift driver for Gulf Stream Coach. He was engaged to marry Geisla Denny of Pierceton.
Those left with special memories are: mother, Marie Scognamillo, Pierceton, Indiana; fiancée, Geisla Denny, Pierceton; son, Trey Bradley, Pierceton; 4 step sons: Andrew Denny, Tennessee; Joshua Denny, Warsaw, Indiana; Christopher Sexton, Burket, Indiana; Michael Sexton, Burket; 4 step daughters: Mary Denny, Warsaw, Indiana; Edith Sexton, Burket; Elizabeth Sexton, Burket; Nyoka Sexton, Burket; 5 step grandchildren: Drew, Anita, Savannah, Kaylee and Kyler; 2 brothers: Edwin Smith, Pierceton; Thomas Smith, Virginia; 6 nieces and nephews: Robert DeCola, Lisa DeCola, Jessica Smith, Camille Smith, Kyle Smith and Harley Smith.
Dominick’s father, Edwin O. Smith and his sister, Mary DeCola, preceded him in death.
A memorial service celebrating Dominick’s life will take place Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 10 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw.

Shirley Joan Reavis, 69, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009 at 9:35 AM in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Indiana.
She was born to Melvin J. “Baldy” and Betty (Hughes) Himes in Warsaw on August 13, 1940. Also in Warsaw, Shirley became the wife of Max William Reavis, Sr. on August 28, 1968. She was a lifetime Warsaw resident except for the 2 years she lived in Arizona and the winters she spent there.
Shirley worked at the Goodwill Store in Warsaw for 12 years retiring in 2005. She enjoyed being at the lake and swimming, loved Elvis and collected his memorabilia, read romance novels, had great fun driving around in her Mini Cooper and PT Cruiser, loved time spent with her grandchildren including letting them ride with her on the golf cart to go fishing and enjoyed buying gifts for her grandchildren. She was loved by her sons-in-law. Her family was her life!
Those left with precious memories are her 3 daughters and sons-in-law: Christine and Jeff Morgan of Paradise Valley, Arizona, Bambi and Darren Baier of Leesburg, Indiana and Melanie and Brad Knisely of Warsaw; son, Max W. “Butch” Reavis, Jr., Warsaw; 11 grandchildren: Justin, Devin, Aaron, Preston, Michelle, Ashley, Corey, Max, Mike, Ciara and Sky; 3 great grandchildren; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law: Lana and Burl Haywood, Warsaw and Judy and Larry Otto of Nappanee, Indiana; 1 step brother and step sister-in-law: Richard and Dardanella Yoder of Warsaw.
Those preceding Shirley’s passing were: her husband, Max W. Reavis, Sr., November 23, 1996; mother, Betty (Hughes) Himes on April 17, 1993; father, Melvin “Baldy” Himes on October 30, 1992; step mother: Marie Himes, February 2, 2006; sister, Sandra “Kay” Hall on June 13, 1989 and her brother, Albert Himes on December 11, 2007.
A time of sharing special memories with Shirley’s family and friends will be Wednesday, September 9, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A celebration of Shirley Joan Reavis’ life will begin at 1 PM, Thursday, September 10, 2009 also at Titus Funeral Home. A private graveside will be held.

Patricia Marie Bradley, 53, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 6, 2009 in her home. Patricia was born June 1, 1956 in Bluffton, Indiana to Carol Owen and Carolyn Joan (Wolf) Thomas.
On May 21, 1980, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Patricia married Alden Bradley.
A homemaker, she had lived in Leesburg for 3 years having moved from South Carolina. She belonged to the Tippecanoe Homemakers Club and attended a non denominational church in Goshen and also attended North Webster United Methodist Church. She loved to read to children, enjoyed gardening, helping people and cooking – especially bread.
She is survived by her husband, Alden Bradley of Leesburg; 2 sons: Daniel Tarr and Brian Bradley, both of North Webster; father and step mother, Carol and Betty Thomas of North Webster; mother and step father, Carolyn and Dean Gephart, Leesburg; sister and brother-in-law: Kathi and Don Nave, South Whitley, Indiana; step-brother and step sister-in-law: Mike and Gina Hollingsworth, North Webster; and special friends who assisted in caring for her.
A time of remembering and celebrating the life of Patricia Marie Bradley will take place Saturday, September 19, 2009 from 2:30 – 4:30 PM in North Webster United Methodist Church.

William “Bill” Jesse Frazier, 67, passed away Thursday, September 03, 2009 at 11:28 AM in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born August 17, 1942 in Staffordsville, Kentucky to James and Addie (Tackett) Frazier.
On April 4, 1968 he enlisted into the US Army. Serving in Vietnam, he was awarded the Good Conduct medal, National Defense Service medal, Vietnam Service medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with Device 1960, Expert Badge with Auto Rifle Bar, and the Marksman Badge M-16. SP5 William Jesse Frazier was honorably discharged from active duty April 3, 1970.
He married Dorothy Vanhoose. Living most of his life in Warsaw, he worked at RR Donnelley and Sons for 25 years, owned and operated Video World for 26 years and was a Work Release Officer for the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department for over 10 years retiring August 1, 2009.
He was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Staffordsville, Kentucky and attended Living Hope Ministries in Warsaw. He was a member of the Metal Detectors Club of Goshen and the Warsaw American Legion Post 49.
Those left to treasure their memories are his wife, Dorothy C. Frazier, Warsaw, son and daughter-in-law, Jason L. and Lucia Frazier, Troy, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, Deanna L. and Joseph Warren, Warsaw; 2 step-daughters and their husbands: Anita L. and Rick Neeley, Etna Green, Indiana and Diana J. and Marty Shepherd of Evans, Georgia; 9 grandchildren; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law: Samuel and Jean Frazier, Thomas and Donna Frazier and Beecher and Judy Frazier, all of Staffordsville, Kentucky; 2 aunts: Alice Brown, Warsaw and Bobbie Watkins of Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
Bill’s death was preceded by his parents and his brother, James Frazier.

A celebration of the life of Bill Frazier will begin at 11 AM at Living Hope Ministries, Warsaw, with Rev. Wayne Whitaker officiating. Glenn Devoe Stump, 87, Warsaw, Indiana passed away Wednesday September 2, 2009 at 7 PM in Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, Indiana.
Mr. Stump was born October 22, 1921 in Noble County, Indiana to Ernest L. and Erma (Bennett) Stump in Noble County, Indiana.
He entered the US Navy January 23, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. He served in WW II and was honorable discharged December 12, 1945 from the US Naval Personnel Separation Center in Great Lakes, Illinois.
Nearly 63 years ago on September 14, 1946 he took Betty Kinsey to be his wife. Living most of their lives in the Warsaw and Kosciusko County, Mr. Stump worked at Hand Polishing in Warsaw as a polisher and buffer and retired in 1984. In his earlier years he was a volunteer fireman for North Webster. Enjoying nature, he watched birds and deer; in the summer he fished and in the winter he ice fished.
Those who will miss him and cherish their memories are his wife, Betty, North Manchester; daughter, Peggy Zorn, Winona Lake, Indiana; 3 grandchildren and their spouses: Glen Scot and Penny Zorn, Warsaw; Tina and John Anderson, Pierceton, Indiana; David and Cyndi Bechtold of Knob Lick, Missouri along with 5 great grandchildren: Elizabeth, Katie, Ryan, Jack and Cheyenne.
One brother and one sister along with an infant son, Glenn David Stump and a daughter, Nancy JO Bechtold (2003) preceded him in death.
A time of sharing with the family will be Saturday, September 5, 2009 from 1-2 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A celebration of Glenn Devoe Stump’s life will follow at 2 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Denny Bollenbacher of New Beginnings Church, Atwood, Indiana officiating. Burial will take place in Mock Cemetery, North Manchester.

Jesse Lowell Gaff, 84, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at 12:27 PM in Warsaw, Indiana.
Mr. Gaff was born October 22, 1924 in Collins Township of Whitley County to James Wilbert and Hazel Sophia (Raypol) Gaff. On April 26, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana Mr. Gaff entered the US Army. He received the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon, Victory Medan and the Army of Occupation Medal-Japan. Pfc Jesse L. Gaff was honorably discharged December 13, 1946 at the Separation Center in Fort Sheridan, Illinois.
He married Vera O. Macy on October 22, 1947 at Big Lake Church of God, Big Lake, Indiana. Living most of his life in Kosciusko County, Mr. Gaff worked 19 years at the Times Union Newspaper and then 15 years at Zimmer, Inc. retiring from there in 1987.
Proud to be an American, Mr. Gaff was a charter member of the National WW II Memorial in Washington D.C.; a member of the Warsaw VFW Post 1126 and Warsaw American Legion Post 49. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association, lifetime member of Warsaw Rifle and Pistol Club, lifetime member of Fort Wayne Rifle and Revolver Club and a former volunteer fireman for the city of Warsaw. He attended Warsaw Church of God.
Those left with loving memories are his wife, Vera, son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Sharon Gaff, daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ellen and Terry Smith, all of Warsaw and daughter and son-in-law, Dena and Douglas Walker of Richmond, Virginia; 6 Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Agnes Stanley, North Manchester, Indiana and Genevera Arnold, Arcola, Indiana; 3 brothers: Norbert (and Justine) Gaff, Florida, Alpheus Ray Gaff, Columbia City, Indiana and Stanley D. (Priscilla) Gaff, both of Columbia City, Indiana.
Mr. Gaff was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Ruth Coy, Betty Egner and Mary Frances Gaff and 2 brothers: Jimmie Gaff and Julian Gaff.
Family and friends will gather to share memories Friday, September 4, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A celebration of Mr. Gaff’s life will be Saturday, September 5th at 10:30 AM in Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw with Pastor Jerry Yoder of Warsaw Church of God officiating. While at Oakwood Cemetery for burial, graveside honors will be conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post 49 and VFW Post 1126.

Henry Johnson, Jr., 74, of Akron, Indiana passed away Monday, August 31, 2009 at 10:35 PM in LifeCare Center, Rochester, Indiana.
Mr. Johnson was born February 19, 1935 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to Henry and Pearl (Carson) Johnson. On February 5, 1983, also in Prestonsburg, he married Ethel Dotson. A coal mine truck driver, he attended Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church, Silver Lake, Indiana.
The Johnsons moved to Akron from Prestonsburg 2 ½ years ago.
Those surviving are Mr. Johnson’s wife, Ethel Johnson, Akron; 2 step sons: Dean and Geretta Greene, Leesburg, Indiana; Jim and Leslie Greene, Bristol, Illinois; 3 step grandchildren: Sossity and Don Goble, Claypool, Indiana; Jeremy and Aime Greene of Leesburg and Rachael Greene, Bristol, Illinois; 5 great grandchildren: Kendra Greene, Ashton Greene, Parker Goble, Paxton Goble and Bryson Greene; 3 sisters: Evelyn Gardner, Arizona, Vivian Tussey, Prestonsburg, Goldie Tussey, Prestonsburg; 1 brother: George Johnson, Prestonsburg.
In addition to his parents, those preceding Mr. Johnson’s death are - 2 sisters: Mable McIntosh and Juanita Adams; 3 brothers - Homer Johnson, Fred Johnson and Wayne Johnson.
A time of sharing memories with family and friends will begin at 10 AM Friday, September 4, 2009 at Magoffin Funeral Home, 817 Parkway Drive, Salyersville, Kentucky until 2 PM. A celebration of Mr. Johnson’s life will follow at 2 PM with Brother Ellis Stevens officiating. Burial will take place in the Dotson Family Cemetery, Jack Arnett Road, Prestonsburg. Merrill D. Hostetler, 85, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 12:05 AM in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw, Indiana.
Mr. Hostetler was born March 24, 1924 in South Bend, Indiana to Dorence and Wreatha (Hearn) Hostetler. On February 11, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio he entered the US Navy and served during World War II. GM3C(T) Merrill D. Hostetler was honorably discharged January 27, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio.
Merrill and Marjorie Louise Curtis were married September 4, 1946 in Nappanee, Indiana. A tool and die maker for Clausing, Inc. for 30 years, he lived most of his life in Kosciusko County, Indiana. He was a member of the Packerton United Methodist Church, Packerton and the Warsaw American Legion Post 49.
His loving family left with precious memories are: his wife, Marjorie Hostetler, Warsaw; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Mary Hostetler, Warsaw and son, Gary Hostetler, Wynnwood, Oklahoma; 3 granddaughters and their husbands: Marcia and Brian Rhoades, Warsaw, Sarah and C.J. Urbanek, Davis, Oklahoma and DeDe Lynn and Darin Dankelson, Highland, Michigan; 6 great grandchildren: Riley and Jack Rhoades, Jack Urbanek, Peter and Jacob Dankelson and Haley Hostetler.
Those preceding his death are his parents, Dorence and Wreatha Hostetler; brother, Donovan Hostetler and grandson, Justin Hostetler.
