Throughout her life, she remained faithful and deeply valued her relationship with God, a cornerstone of her character and comfort. She was a faithful and longtime member of Salem Community Church in Wilmot.

On October 13, 1978, Donna married Jess Mead. Together, they shared many cherished years with him until his passing in February 2020.
