Dolores K. Emmick, of Barbee Lake, gently departed this life on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at The Towne House Retirement Community in Fort Wayne at the age of 72. She was born in Oceanside, New York on July 5, 1953, the daughter of Calvin and Joan Kraemer (Anderson). She was a treasured figure in her family’s life, remembered for her strength, wisdom, and devotion as the best Mom and Nannie.
Throughout her life, Dolores found joy and comfort in numerous passions. She was an avid gardener and canner, loved being outdoors, and enjoyed time spent on the water and boating on Barbee Lake, where she made her home. An enthusiastic fan of “trash TV,” some of her favorites being 90 Day Fiancé, Blue Bloods, YouTube’s Trent & Allie, along with many more. Dolores’s baking talents were well known among family and friends, her cheesecake, hot potato salad, and lasagna were famous and will be greatly missed at gatherings. Above all, her close bond with her daughter, who was her best friend, was a defining and valued relationship in her life.
Dolores married Larry Emmick in Illinois on December 4, 1977, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love. Her heart was deeply rooted in her family. She is lovingly survived by her husband of 48 years, Larry; her children, Shelly (Erik) Olson and Brian (Elizabeth) Emmick; and her five grandchildren, Lily, Isabella, Samantha, Benjamin, and Gavin. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Joan Kraemer (Anderson).
Titus Funeral Home of North Webster is entrusted with Dolores’ care. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home, 8056 E. 500 N. North Webster, IN 46555, for visitation on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. At 1, a brief service will take place. She will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw.
