   Johanna H. “Penny” Andrew, 85, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 6:21 PM in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Indiana.
   Penny was born to Jedcomo and Francescor (Doma) Calascione, April 26, 1924 in New York, New York.
   In 1945 she married Robert Andrew who passed away June 10, 1997. She was a Certified Nurse Assistant for a nursing home in Owego, New York. Penny moved to Warsaw from New York on March 30, 2009.
   Penny’s survivors include: daughter: Judy Andrew, Dryden, New York; nephew: Craig and Tonna Metcalf, Warsaw; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Lorraine and Richard Brownell, Warsaw; great nephew: Eric (Leslie) Metcalf, Warsaw; great nieces: Kristin Dilley and Amy Leake (caregiver) Warsaw; 6 great great nephews; 3 great great nieces.
   In addition to her husband, those preceding Penny’s death are her sons: Jimmy Andrew and John Andrew; 2 sisters and 1 brother.
   No visitation or service is planned. Burial will take place in Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira, New York.

    Everil L. Helser, 100, passed away Monday, August 24, 2009 at 4:45 PM in her daughter’s Nappanee home.
   Mrs. Helser was born November 10, 1908 in Warsaw, Indiana to Dayton and Amanda Stella (Kline) Miller.
   On April 7, 1928, also in Warsaw, she married Raymond G. Helser. They were married for 70 years before Mr. Helser passed away on March 28, 1999.
   Living most of her life in the Warsaw area, Mrs. Helser was a homemaker. She was a member of the Nappanee Church of the Brethren; former member of North Winona Church of the Brethren, Warsaw; Thrifty-Fifty Home Ec Club; Kosciusko County Home Demonstration Club (and was its president in 1960); Warsaw Senior Citizens and was Area II Senior Citizen’s queen.
   Those left with precious memories are her daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Dale Shively, Nappanee; 7 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great Great Grandchildren and a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Glenn Stump of North Manchester, Indiana.
   In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Lozier (December 13, 1987), sister, Grace Perry and brother Gerald Kinsey.
   A time set aside to celebrate Mrs. Helser’s life will begin at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. The Rev. Byrl Shaver of the Nappanee Church of the Brethren will officiate. Friends and family will gather one hour prior for a time to visit and recall fond and loving memories of Mrs. Helsers’s life. Burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

   Roger Alan Dunlap, 64 of Leesburg, Indiana passed away Saturday, August 22, 2009 in his home with his loving wife at his side.
   Roger was born November 1, 1944 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Robert Martin and Marie (Crowell) Dunlap.
   February 5, 1963 in Indianapolis, Indiana he entered the US Army. He was honorably discharged January 27, 1966 in Fort Hamilton, New York.
   Then on July 26, 1980 in Fort Wayne, Roger took Sylvia Lee “Susie” Straley to be his wife. He resided in the North Webster area for 30 years coming from Fort Wayne. Roger was a salesman for Pretty Pillow Company located in Warsaw, Indiana. He was a member of the North Webster American Legion Post 253.
   Survivors include his wife, Sylvia “Susie” Dunlap, Leesburg; son, James Dunlap of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter, Natalie Dunlap of Germany and his aunt, Eleanor Klenke of Fort Wayne.
   His parents preceded him in death as did his sister, Sharon Haredeeen.
   A memorial service celebrating the life of Roger A. Dunlap will take place Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 11 AM in Trinity United Methodist Church, 609 Putnam Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46808. Rev. L Stephen Cain of that church will officiate.

    Harvey Fitzgerald, Jr., 74, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 3:54 in his Warsaw home.
   He was born August 6, 1935 in North Manchester, Indiana to Harvey A. and Georgia (Young) Fitzgerald, Sr. On November 8, 1955 in Wabash, Indiana, Harvey took Shirley Wallen to be his wife.
   Mr. Fitzgerald, a lifetime Warsaw area resident, worked at Zimmer, Inc. for 27 years retiring in 1998 as an inspector.
   Harvey was a true family man who was a good provider who, above all, loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed watching western movies and working in their yard.
   Those left with treasured memories are: his wife, Shirley Fitzgerald, Warsaw; 2 daughters: Lynn Fitzgerald and Betty and her husband, Steve Wilhite, all of Warsaw; 2 sons: Don Fitzgerald of Austin, Texas and Jim Wallen, Sr. of Louisville, Kentucky; 3 grandchildren: Ron and wife, Carrie Lindzy, Warsaw; Shauna and husband, Chris Goble, Warsaw and Jim Wallen, Jr., Lafayette, Indiana; 5 great grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Kaleb Goble, Devin Masterson, Braiden Lindzy and Mark Goble; 1 brother and sister-in-law: Jim and Alma Fitzgerald of Owenton, Kentucky.
   Three brothers: Jack Fitzgerald, Charles Fitzgerald and Bill Fitzgerald and a sister, Ilene, preceded him in death.
   A time of sharing with the family will begin at 11 AM, Saturday, August 22, 2009 at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. The celebration of Harvey’s life will follow at 1 PM also at the funeral home and officiated by Pastor Glen Hughes of Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, Warsaw. Burial will take place in South Pleasant Cemetery, North Manchester.

   James Lee Williams, 66, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 6:30 AM in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Indiana.
   He was born June 17, 1943 in Michigan City, Indiana to Robert A. and Eleanore J. (Storey) Williams. Never married, Jim lived most of his life in the Warsaw area.
   Survivors include his mother, Eleanore Williams, Warsaw; sister and brother-in-law: Linda and Duane Ackerman, Liberty Center, Ohio; sister: Carol Sutherlin, Warsaw; brother and sister-in-law: Tom and Missy Williams, Akron, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
   Jim was preceded in death by his father, Robert A. Williams on August 20, 1994 and his brother, Bruce Williams on December 28, 1972.
   Friends and family will gather at Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw on Friday, August 21, 2009 at 10 AM to celebrate Jim’s life with a Memorial Graveside Service. Pastor Jeff Pfeifer of Warsaw Community Church will officiate.

   Donald A. Durecki, 84, passed away Sunday August 2, 2009 at 9:55 PM in his Warsaw, Indiana home with his loving wife at his side.
   Mr. Durecki was born April 23, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to John and Josephine (Banish) Durecki.
   U.S. FlagDonald entered the US Navy on September 4, 1943 at LB #51, Hamtramck, Michigan and served in WW II. He was honorably discharged April 1, 1946 at USN PSC, Shelton, Virginia.
   On June 25, 1955 Donald married Josephine D. Dolecki in Detroit, Michigan.
   Mr. Durecki was a sales representative for AAA in Hamtramck, Michigan for 25 years retiring in 1987. He was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Warren, Michigan for over 40 years, a member of the Hamtramck High School Breakfast Club that meets every Thursday morning; Past Commander and life member of Hamtramck’s VFW Post 4162 and was an avid fisherman.
   The Durecki’s moved to Warsaw in 2004 from Warren, Michigan.
   Those left with precious memories are his wife, Josephine; their daughter and son-in-law: Donna and Gary Tremblay, Carmel, Indiana; 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Dr. Donald A. and Michele Durecki, Jr., Warsaw and Daniel and Lisa Durecki of Maccomb, Michigan; 7 grandchildren and 1 sister: Delores Pirog, Hamtramck, Michigan. A brother, Robert Durecki preceded Donald’s death in 1998.
   A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Donald A. Durecki, Sr. will begin at 9:30 AM, Saturday, August 15, 2009 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 4401 Bart Avenue, Warren, Michigan 48091 with Father Ruedesilli officiating. Burial will take place in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan, August 17, 2009 at 11 AM.

   Lawrence R. Brown, 85, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2009, 10:40 PM in the emergency room at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Indiana.
   He was born September 22, 1923 to William and Nancy Mae (Haley) Brown in Marion, Indiana. He was raised by his step-father, Hickman Iholts. On February 12, 1949 in Kosciusko County, Indiana, he married Juanita Shepherd. She passed away March 12, 1977. Then on October 30, 1982 Lawrence married Flossie Dye in North Manchester, Indiana.
   U.S. FlagLawrence entered the US Army on February 17, 1943 in Perryville, Ohio and served in WW II with Battery C 156th Field Artillery Battalion. PFC Lawrence R. Brown was honorably discharged November 17, 1945 at Camp Fannin, Texas.
   Living most of his life in Kosciusko County, Lawrence was a truck driver for D & C Construction and in 1970 was disabled. He then worked part-time as caretaker at Glenn Terrace Apartments in Warsaw. He had also been the caretaker and maintenance worker at Eel River Apartments in North Manchester. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Pierceton, Indiana.
   Lawrence is survived by his wife, Flossie, Warsaw; 4 daughters: Shirley Ann Gonzales, Piedmont, Alabama; Diana Sue (and Brett) Clossin, Pierceton, Indiana; Parthena Shepherd, Wabash County, Indiana and Loretta Sue (and Mike) Swick, Warsaw; 3 sons: Kenneth James (and Peggy) Brown and Russell Wayne (and Brenda) Brown, all of Warsaw and Gary (and Rose) Brown, Andrews, Indiana; 24 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren; 1 brother: William Iholts, North Manchester; 3 sisters: Norma Jean “Peggy” (and Allen) Berkes, Marcella Mae Howard, Helen (and James) Jones, all of Fort Wayne and Florence (and Earl) Brenner of Dunkirk, Indiana.
   Those who have preceded his death are a son: Robert LeRoy Brown in 1950, a daughter: Virginia Carol Prater on May 3, 2006, a step son: Daniel Lee Marshall on May 11, 1977; 2 sisters: Florence Brenner and Catherine Norris and 2 brothers: Everett Eugene Iholts and John Brown.
   A time of sharing with family and friends will be Wednesday, August 5, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A celebration of Lawrence R. Brown’s life will begin at 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 6th at Bethel Baptist Church, Pierceton with Pastor Jim Baughman officiating. Burial will follow in Swank Cemetery, North Manchester.

    Susan Marie Rangel, 53, passed away Monday, July 27, 2009, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
   Susan was born, March 4, 1956 in Marshfield, Wisconsin to Joseph and Ilene (Muir) Weisenberger.
   Having lived most of her adult life in Warsaw, Indiana, she was an assistant manager at Freedom Express for the past 6 years. Susan was an active member of Bethany Fellowship Church, Warsaw where she taught Bible School and participated in Bible Studies.
   She will be missed and lovingly remembered by her family as follows: 3 daughters: Marietta (husband, Chris) Skaggs, Warsaw; Amanda Beyel, Warsaw; Lori Beyel, Rochester, Indiana; 3 grandchildren: Jadrien Burge, Reagan Skaggs and CJ Skaggs; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law: Margie and Dan Ligman, Mukwonago, Wisconsin; Nancy and Dell Werner, Hammond, Wisconsin; Ruth and Tim Domine, Marshfield, Wisconsin; 1 brother, Randy Weisenberger, Marshfield, Wisconsin.
   Her parents preceded her in death.
   A memorial service celebrating Susan Marie Rangel’s life will be held Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 7 PM in Bethany Fellowship Church, Warsaw. The family will receive friends and family at the church 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Lincoln Rock Cemetery, Marshfield, Wisconsin./

   Dortha Mae Dowdy, 97, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Springfield Rehab and Health Center, Springfield Missouri.
   Mrs. Dowdy, the daughter of Elmer O. and Sylvia (Showalter) Frank was born January 27, 1912 in Wayne County, Ohio.
   On June 3, 1934 in Ashland, Ohio Dortha Mae Frank was married to Rev. J. Paul Dowdy. She was a homemaker who worked side by side with her husband on the mission field through Grace Brethren International Missions. Mrs. Dowdy was a member of Warsaw Community Grace Brethren Church, Warsaw, Indiana.
   Those left with treasured memories are her 3 sons and daughters-in-law: James Paul and Liz Dowdy, Jr., Sarasota, Florida; Dr. David “Roger” and Jacquie Dowdy, Springfield, Missouri; Robert Lewis and Pam Dowdy of Cary, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
   Mrs. Dowdy was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. J. Paul Dowdy (December 23, 1992) and her brother, Forest L. Frank.
   A graveside service for Dortha Mae Dowdy will be held Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 10 AM in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. The service will be conducted by her grandson, Rev. Jonathan Dowdy.

   Norma E. Copeland, 79, passed away surrounded by her children, July 21, 2009, in Fawcett Memorial Hospital, Port Charlotte, Florida.
   Norma was born March 11, 1930 in Warsaw, Indiana to Charles Butler and Delores (Shaw) (Butler) McDaniel. On January 21, 1950, in Etna Green, Indiana, she married Frank Copeland.
   She was the secretary at Big Boy in Warsaw for 15 years retiring in 1985. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #49. In 1988 Norma moved to Port Charlotte, Florida.
   Those left with treasured memories are her mother, Delores McDaniel, Charlotte Harbor, Florida; 3 daughters: Karen (and Joe) McKibbin, Bullard, Texas; Jan (and Jim) Mayer of Claypool, Indiana; Delores Copeland (and Jean Roush) of Bourbon, Indiana; 1 son, Jim (and Teresa) Copeland of Waco, Texas; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and Norma’s best friend, Stan Rose.
   Her husband, Frank Copeland preceded her death on August 25, 1989 as did her brother, Frank Butler on March 29, 1984.
   A time of sharing with the family will be Monday, July 27, 2009 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, Indiana. A celebration of Norma E. Copeland’s life will begin at 3:00 PM the same day at the funeral home and officiated by Pastor Jerry Thomas of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Atwood, Indiana. Burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana.

   She was the daughter of Elmer and Evelyn (Duff) Holloway. On August 4, 1950 she married Richard T. Leiter in Warsaw, Indiana.
   A homemaker and lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, she was known as Grandma Jo. Josephine was a former member of Touch of Life Church, Warsaw, Indiana with present membership at New Life Christian Church, Warsaw.
   Those left with special memories are her husband, Richard Leiter, Warsaw; 3 sons: Tommy Leiter, Warsaw; Chuck Leiter, Warsaw and Terry Leiter of Brooksville, Florida; foster daughter, Ruth (and husband, Jim) Guffy, Warsaw; 12, Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Sylvia Holloway of Bourbon, Indiana.
   A time of sharing with the family will be Friday, July 24, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A celebration of Josephine’s life will begin at 10 AM Saturday, July 25, 2009 at the funeral home.    She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Butch and Karol Johnston of Milford, Indiana and her guardian, Ann Rudd of Claypool, Indiana. Her parents preceded her in death.
   Friends and family will gather Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 10 AM, to share memories. A celebration of Wanda’s life will follow at 11 AM with Pastor Denny Bollenbacher of New Beginnings Church, Atwood, Indiana officiating. Burial will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery, Huntington, Indiana.

   Beverly Sue Ann "Susie" Gradeless, 68, passed away, Saturday, July 4, 2009, at 3:45 AM in Mason Health and Rehab, Warsaw, Indiana.
   Susie was born to Frederick H. and Pearl Faye (Walters) Keplinger on June 12, 1941 in the home of her grandparents in Fulton County, Indiana.
   She married Harmon W. Gradeless on November 13, 1973 in Almond, Wisconsin. Harmon preceded Susie’s death on April 9, 2002.
   A homemaker and farmer, Susie lived most of her life in Kosciusko County, Indiana.
   Left to treasure her memory is her sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Jack Snavely of Pierceton, Indiana. A niece and a nephew also survive.
   In addition to the loss of her husband, Susie’s father, Frederick H. Keplinger passed away April 11, 1973 and her mother, Pearl Keplinger, passed away April 17, 2005.
   A time of sharing with the family will be Tuesday, July 7, 2009 from 6-8 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Susie’s life will be celebrated beginning at 10 AM Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at the funeral home with Pastor Denny Bollenbacher, chaplain at Mason Health and Rehab officiating. Burial will take place in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.

   Pamela E. Hoffman, 58, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 11:43 AM in her Warsaw home. She was born August 5, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois to Frank and Dorothy (Halliburtin) Jermano.
   U.S. FlagOn March 17, 1991 in Richmond, Virginia Pam married John Hoffman. Having moved to Warsaw 18 years ago from South Bend, Indiana, Pam had been a hostess at Richard’s Restaurant in Warsaw for several years. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church also in Warsaw. Pam served in the US Army from January 3, 1969 to March 14, 1970.

   She was preceded in death by her sister, Jodie Geldner.

   Mrs. Drudge was born March 20, 1914 in Kinsey, Indiana to Thomas J. and Elsie A. (Circle) Poland. She worked in the mail room and bindery at the Free Methodist Publishing House for 30 years retiring in 1976. A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, she was a member of Pleasant View Bible Church, Warsaw.
   Those surviving are 4 daughters: Rose M. (David) Birkey, Fisher, Illinois; Ruth A. (Don) Beeson, Cincinnati, Ohio; Sue (Sam) Bushong, Warsaw, Indiana; and Shiela “Casey” Jones, Houston, Texas; her sister, Violet Hartsough, North Manchester, Indiana; sister-in-law, Mary Louise Jenkins, North Manchester, Indiana; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and 5 nephews.
   Mrs. Drudge was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Delmer Poland and Harold Poland.

   Carmen L. Kluth, 90, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 12:45 PM in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw, Indiana.
   Mrs. Kluth was born April 13, 1919 in Antigo, Wisconsin to Charlie and Beulah V. (Bowen) Schisel. On December 31, 1937, also in Antigo, she became the wife of Edward H. Kluth. Together they moved to Elkhart, Indiana; then in 1956 to Tucson, Arizona. They later moved to Warsaw.
   A homemaker, Mrs. Kluth was very active in church activities. While in Tucson, she worked with the youth at Grace Brethren Church; she taught Bible School in her home. A member of Pleasant View Bible Church, she belonged to the Women’s Missionary Council, taught Sunday School and Junior Church.
   Those surviving are: 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Darlleen and Joe Shepherd, Warsaw and Colleen and Robert Logsdon of Dixon, Illinois; a son and daughter-in-law, William and Roberta Kluth of Tucson, Arizona; 7 grandchildren and their spouses: Pam and Steve Hauck, Anoka, Minnesota; Dawn and Tony Gausto, Rockford, Illinois; Chad and Stephanie Buck, Honolulu, Hawaii; Troy and Michelle Kluth or Oro Valley, Arizona; Tammy and Andrew Cohen, Tucson, Arizona; Aaron and Beth Shepherd, Warsaw; and Joel and Karla Shepherd of Mentone, Indiana; 17 great grandchildren: Drew, Alyssa, Rachel, Jensen, Tiana, Kevena, Koah Ethan, Aiden, Samantha, Andrew, Riley, Hudson, Kylie, Kelsey, Kylan and Devan; a great great granddaughter, Riley.
   Mrs. Kluth was preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. Kluth on July 9, 1993; her sister, Joyce “Joy” Christensen, October 22, 2004; 2 brothers: Infant Charles R. Schisel in 1918 and Albert Schisel on August 30, 1992.

   Mary E, Mueller, 86, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Mason Health and Rehab, Warsaw, Indiana.
   Mary was born September 17, 1922 in Warsaw to Wilbur and Pauline (Oswalt) Neer. In 1946 Mary was married to Milo Kinch in Warsaw. Milo passed away July 20, 1977. On February 14, 1992 also in Warsaw, Mary became the wife of Armin Mueller.
   A lifetime resident of Warsaw, Mary was employed at Jomac for 23 years and was a supervisor. She also worked at Sun Metal for 8 years. Mary was a member of Ladies of the Moose and the American Legion Auxiliary.
   Mary is survived by her husband Armin Mueller, Warsaw; step-son: Allan Mueller, Warsaw; step-daughter and her husband, Angela and James Perry of Mentone, Indiana; 2 step- grandchildren: Kelsey Perry and Justin Perry; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law: Fred “Porky” and Mildred Neer, Lake Placid, Florida; Donald and Joan Neer, New Paris, Indiana; Ralph and Mary Neer, Warsaw; 3 sisters: Kathryn and her husband, Ralph Taylor of Ocala, Florida; Leatrice Seymour, Warsaw; and Shirley Timmons, Leesburg, Indiana.
   Along with the passing of her first husband, Milo Kinch, Mary’s passing was preceded by 2 brothers and 2 sisters; they are Harold F. Neer (September 7, 1997), John L. Neer (September 8, 2006), Martha Groves (April 1984) and Helen McKinney (January 30, 1998).
   A time of sharing with the family will be Sunday, June 7, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A celebration of Mary E. Mueller’s life, officiated by her nephew, Rev. Dana Neer, will take place at the funeral home Monday, June 8, 2009 at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.    Beverly was born August 15, 1934 in Warsaw to Herbert and Ruby (Pinkerton) Morgan. On November 12, 1954, also in Warsaw, she married Robert O. Leedy. He passed away August 20, 2005.
   A lifetime Warsaw resident, she loved to collect plates.
   Beverly is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Barry Hyde, Warsaw; a son and daughter-in-law, Brooks and Theresa Leedy of Arizona; 4 grandchildren: Heather (and husband, Jerry) Arnett, Denver, Indiana; Tyler Hyde, Ann Leedy and Eric Leedy, all of Warsaw; and a great grandson, Jaren Arnett; 2 sisters also survive. They are Phyllis (and husband, Lyle) Bloomfield, of Illinois and Betty Bryant, Elkhart, Indiana.

   Ira “Carl” Seitner passed away Sunday, May 17, 2009 at 8:07 PM in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
   He was born August 17, 1926 in Roann, Indiana to Walter J. and Ruby (Reed) Seitner.
   Carl entered the US Army November 8, 1944 in Indianapolis, Indiana and was honorably discharged August 12, 1946 at Fort Sheridan, Illinois.
   On January 7, 2004, Carl married Mary Johnson in Warsaw, Indiana where he lived most of his life. Carl attended Living Hope Ministries in Warsaw.
   He was employed by Arnold Corporation for 17 years. He also worked at Dalton Foundries and was a Sand Lab Tech. He retired November 8, 1991 after 21 years of service to the company.
   Those surviving are his wife, Mary Seitner, Mentone, Indiana; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ronnie Smith, Mentone; son, Mike (Maria) Seitner, Warsaw; 3 sisters: Iris Nuell, Martha (and husband, Pete) Wuchter, and Sandra Kimes, all of Warsaw; 11 grandchildren: Charlie, Matt, Christina, Melissa, Todd, Walter, Ronda, Mark, John, Thomas and Trevis; 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
   Carl was preceded in death by his father, Walter J. Seitner on March 18, 1959; mother, Ruby A. Seitner, January 22, 1994; son, David Seitner, April 14, 1990; his second wife, Norma Jean Seitner, July 23, 1994.
   A time of sharing with the family will be Wednesday, May 20, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw and one hour prior to the funeral service. The funeral will begin at 11 AM Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Living Hope Ministries with Pastor Wayne Whitaker of the church officiating.    John C. “Jack” Liptow, 68, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 9:35 PM in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Indiana.
   Jack was born March 21, 1941 to John T. and Martha C. (Wilson) Liptow in Anderson, Indiana.
   He was a machinist at Delco Remy in Anderson for 17 years retiring in 1979. Jack moved to Diamond Lake in 1984 from Anderson. Then on June 30, 1990 in Palestine, Indiana, he married Betty J. Robb.
   Jack was a member of Warsaw Moose Lodge and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Anderson. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a big Colts fan. He was in the process of restoring a 1949 Chevy.
   Jack is survived by his wife, Betty of Silver Lake, Indiana; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherri (Liptow) and David Maupin, Anderson; 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Mike and JoAnn Liptow-Ball of Warsaw and Joe and Lena Liptow-Ball, Burket, Indiana; a step-son, John Parker, Silver Lake, Indiana; 8 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 3 sisters: Pat Schoettmer, Silver Lake, Betty (and husband, John) Richardson, Chesterfield, Indiana and Donna Mahla of Anderson; 1 brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Sharon Liptow, Anderson.

   Russell was born December 13, 1958 in Danville, Illinois to George W. and Peggy L. (Hazelbaker) Johnson. He lived most of his life in Danville and Warsaw.
   On February 14, 2004 he married Paula Carlotta in Webster, New York.
   He was a self employed building contractor. Prior to his death, however, he had worked at RR Donneley in Warsaw. Russell was a member of Warsaw Community Church.
   Those surviving are his wife, Paula J. Johnson, Warsaw; 4 daughters: Angel, Christy, Daisy and Brandy; 2 sons: Russell Johnson, Jr. and Joshua Johnson; 2 step daughters: Doniella Currier and Mandy Currier both of Warsaw; a step son: Keith Natalie, US Army, Fort Benning, Georgia; 27 grandchildren; 3 brothers: George (and Anna) Johnson, Jr., New Orleans, Louisiana; Harry Johnson, Warsaw and Robert Johnson, Wisconsin; 3 sisters: Judy and Fred Schultz, Warsaw, Melissa Marie Siegler, Warsaw and Vicky (and Mark) Flora of Lima, Ohio; and a special good bye to Jay and Shelley Johnson.

   Austin Michael Hunsberger, 21, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 3:45 PM in Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
   Austin was born October 20, 1987 in Warsaw, Indiana to Rodney “Rod” and Tammy (Grindle) Hunsberger. He was a lifetime Warsaw resident.
   A 2007 graduate of Warsaw High School, he was a sophomore at Indiana University – Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW) with the intention of majoring in a Health Science. Austin loved photography, tennis and spending time with his friends.

   Charles Thomas “Tom” Sumpter, 83, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 1:05 AM in Mason Health and Rehab, Warsaw, Indiana.
   Tom was born December 27, 1925 in Noble County, Indiana to Lee “Merle” and Eva (Hoover) Sumpter. He was married to Annette “June” Aitken November 4, 1978 in Warsaw, Indiana.
   He lived most of his life in Warsaw. A machinist at Clausings, Tom enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening. He loved to ride his tractor.
   U.S. FlagTom entered the US Navy on January 13, 1943 and served in World War II. He was honorably discharged as Boatswain’s Mate third class on September 28, 1962.
   Tom is survived by his wife, June Sumpter, Warsaw; 3 sons: Don Mort, Bremen, Indiana; Patrick “Pat” (& Ruth) Heath, Pierceton, Indiana; Larry Sumpter, Roanoke, Virginia; a daughter, Sandra “Sandy” (& Marvin) Wannemacher, Dayton, Ohio; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 4 sisters: Joan Zent, Rochester, Indiana; Annette Hicks, Wakarusa, Indiana; Jeannette Hoffman, Mishawaka, Indiana; Emmajean (& Frank) Stayer, Kendalville, Indiana.

   He was born March 13, 1920 in Breathitt County, Kentucky to Abe and Vina (Vanderpool) Shepherd. He was married to Virginia Dotson.
   A full time farmer in Pierceton and Bloomfield, Indiana, he enjoyed bluegrass music and was a personal friend to the Ralph Stanley and the Ricky Scaggs families. He had lived in Warsaw 5 years coming from Bloomfield.
   Charles is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Stevens, Warsaw; 2 grandchildren: Charles and Crystal Shafer, Columbia City, Indiana and Kimberly Masura, Warsaw; 6 great grandchildren: Nathan, Cole, Joe, Julia, Megan, Ashley; 1 great great granddaughter, Lilly; brother and sister-in-law, Claude and Martha Shepherd and a sister, Jean Wolfe, all of Warsaw.
   Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Shepherd in September 1987; 3 brothers: Wayne Shepherd (November 5, 1990), Clyde Shepherd, (November 2, 1989) and Alex Shepherd, (February 24, 1989); and a sister, Myrtle Yonts Dicks on June 15, 2003.

   Alan Wilson Grindle, 79 went to be with his Lord, Friday, May 8, 2009 at 2:00 AM in his home while surrounded by his family.
   Alan was born January 24, 1930, in Warsaw, Indiana to Russell and Rachel (Wilson) Grindle. He took Mildred C. Whetstone to be his wife and life partner on September 16, 1950 in Mentone, Indiana.
   U.S. FlagA lifetime resident of Warsaw, Alan served our country when he entered the US Air Force in Indianapolis on November 21, 1951. He served in the Korean War with the 508th Field Maintenance Squadron. A/3c Alan Wilson Grindle was honorably discharged from the Air Force October 2, 1953 at Tuner AFB, Albany, Georgia.
   He was a truck driver for 20 years and then worked in the maintenance department at Zimmer, Inc. for 21 years retiring in 1989. He was a member of Harrison Center Church, Warsaw American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126. And he was an avid fisherman.
   Those surviving are his wife, Mildred Grindle; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Bill Burr; son and daughter-in-law, Kim and Linda Grindle – all of Warsaw; 5 grandchildren: Sgt. Michael and Stacey Lucas, Fort Knox, Kentucky; Matthew Lucas and his companion, Jerika Akers, Warsaw; Cassandra Burr and her companion, Nate Lewis, Syracuse, Indiana; Rob Grindle, Warsaw; and Lisa and Blaine Goon, Warsaw; 6 great grandchildren: Jacob, Makia, Aaron, Chase, Karter and Emily; and brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Phyllis Grindle, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Alan was preceded in death by his brother, Keith B. Grindle on May 5, 2002.

   Vera Evelyn Pippenger, 86, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 12:55 PM in Mason Health and Rehabilitation, Warsaw, Indiana.
   Vera was born January 14, 1923 in Bremen, Indiana to John Edward and Bertha Irene (Hanes) Shelton. On September 22, 1940 in Bourbon, Indiana, she became the wife of Arthur Pippenger. Vera, living most of her life in Warsaw, worked in data processing at Zimmer, Inc. and retired in 1987. She was a member of First Brethren Church, Warsaw.
   She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Jay and Janice Pippenger and a daughter and son-in-law: Sharon and Joe Whicker, all of Warsaw. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren: Joe and Charlotte Whicker, Elkhart, Indiana; Linda Boeshart, Huntington Beach, California; Amy and Greg Barry, Warsaw; and Craig and Samantha Frederickson of Goshen, Indiana; and 3 great grandchildren: Elysia, Erin and Miranda.
   Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Pippenger on March 2, 1974; daughter: Janice Frederickson, February 16, 2004; 2 sisters: Ailene George and Wilma Ringle; 4 brothers: Paul Shelton, John Shelton, Ward Shelton and Garnie Shelton.
   A time of sharing with the family will be Friday, May 8th from 11 AM to 1 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Following the visitation and beginning at 1 PM there will be a celebration of Vera Evelyn (Shelton) Pippenger’s life. Pastor Dennis Bollenbacher, chaplain at Mason Health and Rehabilitation will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

   Martha C. Andrews, 87, passed away at 9:30 PM in Millers Merry Manor, Warsaw, Indiana. She is now with her Christian parents and husband in heaven.
   Martha was born June 8, 1921 to Roy E. and Edna C (Jensen) Thompson in Indianapolis, Indiana.
   On February 14, 1940, in Terre Haute, Indiana, Martha became the wife of Rev. John Andrews.
   She was a homemaker who lived most of her life in Kosciusko County. Martha taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years. She was involved in many mission activities only one of which was providing a home for missionaries on furlough. Martha assisted her husband in the management and leadership of Winona Lake Christian Assembly during the late 1950’s. She was a member of the Retired Tigers Homemaker’s Club.
   Martha is survived by son and daughter-in-law: Dennis R. “Denny” and Millie Andrews, Winona Lake, Indiana; son: Jon R. Andrews, Warsaw; two daughters and sons-in-law: Lynn C. and Ron Hennig, North Webster, Indiana and Marlene J. and Richard Stotts, Jacksonville, Florida; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
   Martha was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. John Andrews on December 5, 1995 and her brother, Wallace G. Thompson on January 12, 1989.
   A time to visit and share with the family will be Tuesday, May 5, 2009 from 4-8 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A celebration of the life of Martha C.    Robert M. Orcutt, 87, of Eldridge, Iowa passed away April 25, 2009 at 5:26 AM in Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport, Iowa.
   Robert was born May 3, 1921 in Warsaw, Indiana to Charles Wesley and Ethel (Bemis) Orcutt.
   On August 30, 1941, in Etna Green, Indiana, Robert took Betty Jane Shaw to be his wife.
   U.S. FlagHe entered the US Army on December 31, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana and served as a tank driver in the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns including the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. Tec 5 Robert M. Orcutt was honorably discharged January 11, 1946 at Camp Atterbury, Indiana.
   Robert is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Jerry and Rosemary Orcutt, Brisbane, Australia and Lynn and Joyce Orcutt, Eldridge, Iowa; 8 grandchildren; 11, great grandchildren; sister: Genevieve Druckamiller, Largo, Florida; sister and brother-in-law: Betty and Wayne Wilson, Alva, Wyoming.
   His death was preceded by his wife, Betty J. Orcutt on January 22, 2000 and his sister, Helen Jervis.
   A time of sharing memories with the family will be Saturday, May 9, 2009 from 12 noon – 2 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, Indiana. A memorial service celebrating Robert’s life will follow at 2 PM in the funeral home. Burial will take place in Harrison Center Cemetery, Etna Green, Indiana.

   Paul Wesley Everett, 70, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009 in his Warsaw, Indiana residence.
   Paul was born July 27, 1938 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania to James W., Sr. and Eleanor F. (Liphard) Everett.
   He lived in Warsaw for forty years coming from Lafayette, Indiana. Paul worked as a shipping clerk at DePuy for 24 years retiring in 1997.
   Those surviving are his brother: Thomas E. “Tom” Everett, Warsaw; several nieces and nephews including – Bryan Everett, Monroe, Michigan; Debbie Everett Gall, Syracuse, Indiana; Sandy Everett Johnson, Claypool, Indiana; Becky Everett, Warsaw.
   Paul was preceded in death by his father: James Whitney Everett, Sr.; mother: Eleanor F. (Liphard) Everett; 3 brothers: James Whitney “Jimmy” Everett, Jr., John Edward “Jack” Everett; William Ray “Bill” Everett; and his sister Mary Lou “Louie” Everett.

   She was born July 28, 1936 in London, Kentucky to John and Edna (Cheek) Mooney. On February 15, 1975, in Rochester, Indiana she married Max Grubbs.
   Coming from London, Kentucky, Glacie, homemaker, lived in Warsaw most of her life and was a member of Victory Christian Church, Warsaw.
   She is survived by her beloved husband, Max; 2 sons and daughters-in-law: James and Jovita Lewis, Goshen, Indiana; John and Londa Lewis, Mentone, Indiana; daughter: Edna Pauline Bryie of Mishawaka, Indiana; step daughter: Lori Ann (and Robert) Shaw, Indianapolis, Indiana; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; sister: Cleda Janke, Indianapolis, Indiana; and her brother and sister-in-law: James and Nancy Mooney, Rochester, Indiana.
   Glacie was preceded in death by her son: Arthur Dean Lewis in 1992 and 2 sisters: her twin, Gracie Mae Alderson and Lee Crook.

   Dallas W. King went to be with his Lord, Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 12:50 PM in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw, Indiana.
   Dallas was born March 11, 1930 to Otis Andrew and Laura Mae (Helvey) King in Kokomo, Indiana. Then, on January 28, 1950 in Lafayette, Indiana, he married Phyllis J. Brinson. Together they came to Warsaw in 1962 from Lafayette. A self employed custodian retiring in 1994, he also had been a custodian for the Warsaw Community Schools for 5 years. Dallas was a member of Warsaw Wesleyan Church.
   He is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Warsaw; 3 sons: Richard and Mary King, Warsaw; John King, Mesa, Arizona and Roger and Val King, Warsaw; 3 daughters and sons-in-law: Sarah and Larry Dunn, Winona Lake, Indiana; Deana and Dan Freeman, Warsaw; and Rita and Tim Tharp, Muncie, Indiana; 20 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law: Lloyd and Naomi King, Ladson, South Carolina and Jerry and Viola King, Goldsboro, North Carolina. Those preceding his death were brothers, Robert King, Richard King, Basil King, Harold King and a granddaughter, Christina King.

   Surviving her death is a daughter, Karen Wall, New Haven, Indiana; 4 grandchildren: John Wall, Jr., Fort Wayne, Indiana, Jennifer Wall, New Haven, Indiana, Brian Prater, Seattle, Washington, Michelle Deschane, Sebastian, Florida; great granddaughter, Madison Adams; expected great grandson, Cooper Everett Wall; Also surviving are special friends, Budd and Mary Kay Walls, Warsaw along with their daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Scott Lawson and daughter, Emily Lawson, of Fort Wayne.

   David George Sanborn, 81, made his way to heaven Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 2:10 AM in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Indiana.
   David was born April 17, 1927 in Ferndale, Michigan to Glen M. and Mary E. (Steere) Sanborn. On August 21, 1954 in Ypsilanti, Michigan, he took Cynthia Joan Stralnic to be his wife.
   He dedicated his life to the influence of young people in numerous ways including teaching music in the public schools for nearly 40 years. He taught at Chelsea High School, Chelsea, Michigan and at Lakeview High School in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. He also taught preschool music for various Montessori schools near Detroit following his retirement.
   Having come from St. Clair Shores, Michigan to Winona Lake, Indiana in 2003, David was a member of Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church. Other church memberships had included Calvary Baptist Church in Roseville, Michigan and Bethany Baptist Church in Clinton Township, Michigan where he served as deacon. He belonged to Gideon’s International, Voice of Christian Youth ministry, the Orff-Schulwerk Association, Michigan School Vocal Association, was active in Youth for Christ, taught Sunday School and was in the Civil Air Patrol.
   Being very musically active, he played string bass and tuba in the St. Clair Shores Symphony and Ann Arobor Symphony as well as with numerous Detroit area groups. Most recently he participated in the Grace Community Wind Ensemble and volunteered at Jefferson Elementary School, both in Winona Lake. He loved ice cream and dogs almost as much as his family. He also enjoyed fishing and camping.
   A devoted father and husband, he is survived by his wife, Cynthia Sanborn, Winona Lake; 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Tim and Ruth Sanborn, Winona Lake and David and Cathy Sanborn of Keystone Heights, Florida; 2 daughters: Nancy Kilpatrick of York, Maine and Beth Sanborn of Plymouth, Michigan; 5 grandchildren: Benjamin Sanborn and Michael Sanborn, both of Winona Lake; Joel (and Stacey) Kilpatrick of Northville, Michigan; Daniel (and Laura) Kilpatrick of Loma Linda, California; Andrew Kilpatrick of York, Maine; and 1 great grandson, Lukas Kilpatrick, Northville, Michigan.
   David was preceded in his death by 2 sisters: Mary Alice Hayes and Betty Higgins.
   A time of sharing with the family will take place from 2-3 PM Friday, April 17, 2009 at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church with a celebration of David’s life beginning at 3 PM also at the church.

   Scott Kenneth Yarnall, 45, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2009 in his Warsaw home. He was born December 8, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois, to Gene and Martha L. (Clark) Yarnall. On December 14, 2004, also in Warsaw, Scott married Lillian Bruner.
   Scott had been a police officer in Los Angeles, California for 11 years. He moved to Warsaw 12 years ago and there was a cook at Schoop’s Hamburgers.
   Scott is survived by his wife, Lillian “Sue” Yarnall; father and step mother, Gene and Georgia Yarnall, Leesburg, Indiana; mother and step father, Martha “Marti” and George Brough of Torrance, California; a step brother and his wife, Richard and Christina Yarnall, Pataskala, Ohio; 2 half brothers and their wives - Mark and Lara Holmes, Elsa Dod, California and Don and Amy Holmes, Vancouver, Washington. Scott was preceded in death by his identical twin brother, Anthony Gene Yarnall in 1992.

   She was born December 21, 1923 in South Bend, Indiana to Ignace and Anna “Nowak” Fiwek. On July 28, 1943, also in South Bend, Wynne married Byron G. Hunter. Retiring in 1983, she was the cafeteria manager at Northrop High School and Shawnee Middle School for 12 years.
   Surviving along with her husband, Byron, are their 5 children. They are: Randy Hunter, Warsaw; Rodney and his wife, Leslie, Hunter, Newburgh, Indiana; Janine Hunter, Winona Lake; Joyce Burnett, Gas City, Indiana; Pamela and her husband, Jerry, Koehlinger, Warsaw; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
   Wynne was preceded in her death by 3 brothers: Benny Fiwek, Irvin Fiwek and Ted Fiwek; and 3 sisters: Goldie Holke, Alice DeVliger and Henrietta Szabo.

   Owen R. "Rusty" Ecker, 72, of Warsaw, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the home of his daughter.
   He was born April 8, 1936 in Momence, Illinois to Estel and Leona (Wooley) Ecker.
   On April 14, 1956 he married Mildred L. Warren in Auburn, Indiana. Rusty moved to Warsaw from Niles, Michigan in 1956.
   He was a trimmer at Liberty Homes, Inc. in Syracuse, Indiana retiring in 2002 after over 30 years of service. Rusty, a member of REACT CB Club, loved to fish, camp and go to garage sales.
   He is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Pamela and Thomas Gibson of Warsaw and Rosemary and Roger Kunkel of Watervliet, Michigan; 3 step-daughters and their husbands: Lavina and Wayne Alderfer, Cromwell, Indiana, Donna and Larry Brubaker, Warsaw, Indiana and Kay Smith of Elwood, Indiana; 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Elizabeth Purucker, Niles and Frances Wyres, Houston, Texas.
   He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred L. Ecker, October 9, 1997; brother, Everett Ecker, 1997; and son-in-law, Stephen Smith in 2008.

She was born July 5, 1924 in Warsaw. A lifetime Warsaw resident she was a homemaker who helped out at Cardinal Center, Warsaw.
   She is survived by her friend, Janice Blosser, Warsaw.
   Preceding her death are her father, William Dye, April 4, 1999; mother, Helen Dye, November 4, 1973; and brother, Robert Dye, December 2, 2000.
   Visitation for Patti will be Wednesday, April 1, 2009 from 10 – 11 AM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw.    Jarred was born February 5, 1988 in Goshen, Indiana to Brian “Barney” Neibert and Khrystal (Click) Leasure.
   Having worked at Gulf Stream in Nappanee, he was currently employed by Neibert Construction of Leesburg. He attended Warsaw High School. He loved fishing, race cars, drawing and spending time with his friends. Most of all he loved his sons and his best friend and brother, Jeremy.
   Surviving are 2 sons and their mothers: Jarred Lee Neibert II and Brittany Griepentrog, Warsaw and Jaisyn Lee Neibert and Brandi Gase, Warsaw; his father, Brian “Barney” Neibert, Leesburg; mother, Khrystal Leasure, Winona Lake, Indiana; 3 brothers: Mark David Parrish, Chicago, Illinois; Jeremy Neibert, Winona Lake; Kyler Ray Polston, Warsaw; paternal grandparents, Lewis and Sue Neibert, Leesburg; maternal grandmother, Lois Click, Winona Lake; 3 nieces: Madysen, Kyleigh and Alexys; and 2 nephews: Jeremiah and Damon.

   Rollin was born September 5, 1953 to Marvin and Nadine (Stein) Jump in Mendota, Illinois. He was a 1971 graduate of DeKalb High School, Auburn, Indiana. In 1975 he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Grace College, Winona Lake, Indiana.
   On June 1, 1974, he married Lois M. Paxson in Fort Wayne.
   Rollin lived in Warsaw for 38 coming from Auburn and worked for Dalton Foundries (Warsaw) for 29 years retiring in December of 2007. Rollin was instrumental in planting Christ’s Covenant Church, Winona Lake, as well as Christ’s Church in Michiana, in Osceola, Indiana. With a great love and compassion for the needs of all people, he was actively involved in pastoral care for over 30 years. He continually studied and applied the scriptures to his life with all of his heart, soul, strength and mind.
   He had a passion for a wide genre of music and enjoyed basketball, camping, bicycling and hiking. Rollin deeply loved his family and especially enjoyed his grandson, Logan.    He is survived by his wife, Lois; son, Jonathan Jump; daughter, Jennifer Buell; grandson, Logan; and mother, Nadine Jump, all of Warsaw. Also surviving are 3 sisters: Lois Polson, Killeen, Texas; Kay Sheggeby, Redmond, Oregon; and Ina (Roger) St. John, Calera, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
   Rollin was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Jump who passed away on March 20, 1977 and his sister, Joyce Jump who passed away on July 1, 1983.
   A time of sharing with the family will be Tuesday, March 31, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Titus Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the service in Rodeheaver Auditorium. A celebration of Rollin’s life will begin on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at 7 PM at Rodeheaver Auditorium, Winona Lake. Pastors Larry McCall, Steve Henry and Rod Valentine, all of Christ’s Covenant Church will officiate.
   A public graveside service will take place Thursday morning at 10:30 AM in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

John W. Holman passed away Friday March 20, 2009 at 3:00 PM in his home.
   He was born October 14, 1935 to E.F. and Rose (Stogsdill) Holman in Lepanto, Arkansas.
   U.S. FlagJohn entered the US Air Force on February 13, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri and on February 12, 1960 at Selfridge Air Force Base, Mt. Clemens, Michigan was honorably discharged.
   On March 31, 1958, while in the service, he married Florence M. Geisler in Mt. Clemens, Michigan.
   Coming from Mt. Clemens, Michigan, John was a resident of Warsaw for 39 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pierceton, Pierceton, Indiana. He retired from Zimmer, Inc. in 1995 as an inspector with 26 years of service.
   Along with his wife, Florence, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert J. and Vicky Holman, Elkhart, Indiana; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela Ann and Brandon Reed, North Webster, Indiana; a grandson, Ryan Holman; a granddaughter, Emma Holman; 3 sisters: Jane Holman, St. Louis, Missouri; Catherine Holman, St. Louis, Missouri and Mattie (John) Gustafson, Orlando, Florida.
   John was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy L. Holman, June 20, 1991; a brother, Lee Holman, 1986; a sister, Lucille Pelts, 2004; and both parents.
   A time of sharing with the family will be Tuesday, March 24th from 4-8 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A celebration of John’s life will begin at 10 AM, Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Titus Funeral Home, with Pastor Mark Fishburn of First Baptist Church of Pierceton officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 49 and the VFW Post 1126.

Beverly A. Smith went home to be with her Lord, Friday, March 20, 2009 at 11:45 a.m. while at home surrounded by her loving family.
   Beverly was born November 17, 1939 in LaGrange, Indiana to Walter and Lilah (Nelson) Bartels. On May 22, 1960, also in LaGrange she married Ralph E. Smith. She has lived in Warsaw since 1970 having come from New Castle, Indiana. She was a retired clerk from Hart’s Shoeland Store in Warsaw, Indiana and was also a homemaker.
   “Her relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ was first and foremost in her life. She deeply loved her family, friends and church and invested great time and energy in them. She was passionate about the Create-a-Card ministry at Warsaw Wesleyan Church where she was a member. Her other interests included stamping, scrap booking and sewing.”
   Survivors include her husband, Ralph; 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Cherrill A. and Todd Warren, Blaine, Minnesota; Jennie E. and Craig Peplin, Buford, Georgia; 5 Grandchildren: Roxanne and Raeleen Warren; Courtney, Chase and Cody Peplin; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law: Charles and Lois Bartels, Humboldt, Tennessee; David and May Bartels, Winter Park, Florida; and William and Judy Bartels, Greendale, Wisconsin; a sister and brother-in-law: Barbara and Edward Brewer, Eaton, Ohio.
   Both parents have preceded her death.

Donald W. Hoffer, 91, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 11:50 PM in Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Milford, Indiana Donald was born on May 11, 1917 to John and Rena (Brumbaugh) Hoffer.
U.S. FlagHe entered the US Army on March 19, 1942 in Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indianapolis, Indiana. He served as a heavy machine gunner in northern France during WW II. Don became a POW when he was captured in Holland on October 5, 1944. A Purple Heart recipient, he also received the EAME Theater Ribbon with one bronze star. Cpl Donald W. Hoffer with the 81st Anti Aircraft 101st Airborne Division was honorably discharged October 21, 1945 in Camp Atterbury, Indiana. On January 2, 1943, in Laurinburg, North Carolina, he married Laura Jean Schell.
A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, he retired from farming in 1979.
Surviving along with his wife, Laura, are 2 daughters: Mary Ann Rule and Kathryn Hoffer, both of Warsaw; a son and daughter-in-law, David Allen and Dixie Hoffer, Warsaw; 5 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren; a brother: Frank Hoffer of Atwood, Indiana and a sister: Evelyn Hoffer, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Three sisters preceded his death: Wilma Hoffer, Edna Hoffer and Mary Pendleton.
No visitation or service is scheduled. A private family graveside service was held March 20, 2009 in Stony Point Cemetery, Atwood.

    John Judson Bumbaugh of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009 at 2:55 AM in Grace Village Assisted Living, Winona Lake, Indiana.
    He was born October 25, 1931 in Warsaw to Girard Milton and Ethel F. (Deerwester) Bumbaugh.
    In Warsaw on March 22, 1952 he married Dorothy Arnold.  She passed away November 20, 1993.  He then married Gretchen (Seiffert) Watkins on November 25, 1994 also in Warsaw.  John was a truck driver with TMX of Chicago and Case Carriage of Celina, Ohio for 45 years retiring in 1996. 
    A lifetime Warsaw resident, he was a member of the American Legion Post 49.
   U.S. Flag On July 7, 1952 he entered the US Army in Indianapolis.  He served in the Signal Corp during the Korean War and was honorably discharged as Cpl. John Judson Bumbaugh on April 23, 1954 in Fort Sheridan, Illinois.
    He was blessed with two families in his lifetime.  Those surviving his death are:  his wife, Gretchen, Warsaw; 3 sons:  Jon (Carolyn) Bumbaugh, Houston, Texas; Alan Bumbaugh, Concord, New Hampshire; Dan (Sally) Bumbaugh, Bloomington, Indiana; 2 daughters:  Karen (Dan) Hansen, San Jacinto, California and Brenda Brown, Clunette, Indiana; 3 step-sons:  Steven (Donna) Watkins, Boulder, Colorado; Stuart (Julie) Watkins, Claypool, Indiana; Sterling (Sarah) Watkins, Warsaw; 7 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 3 step-great grandchildren; 2 sisters:  Barbara Joan Phillips, Oakdale, Louisiana; Lois Franklin, Kalispel, Montana; 1 brother:  Barney (Dorothy) Bumbaugh, North Manchester, Indiana.
    Preceding his death is his first wife: Dorothy Bumbaugh, November 20, 1993; a sister, Juarine Choicej; 2 brothers:  Gordy Bumbaugh and Max Bumbaugh.

    Doris E. Arnold passed away Monday, March 9, 2009 at 5:40 AM in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw, Indiana.  She was born August 1, 1923 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Cecil and Hazel (VanGilder) Arnold.  Doris graduated on April 19, 1940 from Atwood High School, Atwood, Indiana and on September 29th of that same year, she married Joseph A. Arnold in Warsaw.  It was there that she spent most of her life. 
    She was a receptionist and secretary for First National Bank in Warsaw for 18 years retiring in 1985.  Doris was a member of Walnut Creek United Methodist Church, Warsaw.  She enjoyed playing her organ (especially Big Band music) and she loved her family.
    Doris is survived by her daughter, Linda L. Arnold, Warsaw; 2 sons and daughters-in-law:  J. Andrew and Brenda Arnold, Warsaw and Thomas A. and Kacy Arnold, Claypool, Indiana; 4 grandchildren and their spouses:  Julie and Doug Ruckman, Fort Wayne, Indiana; Amy and Matt Weaver, Greenwood, Indiana; Brett and Anna Cumberland, Hinsdale, Illinois; Shawn and Kelly Cumberland, Fort Wayne; 6 great grandchildren:  Naomi, Paul, Neil, Drew, Dylan and Brianna.

    Barbara Ann Rogers passed away Monday, March 9, 2009 at 6:25 PM in Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw, Indiana. 
    Living her entire life in Warsaw, Barb was born March 26, 1950 to Lester and Mary Elizabeth (Winger) Young.  She was a 1968 graduate of Warsaw High School and a 1972 graduate of Manchester College.  On August 15, 1971, in Warsaw, she married Donald L. Rogers.
    She taught 2nd grade at Lincoln Elementary School for 39 years.  She was the president of Tipkie Reading Association of Indiana; a member of AAUW (American Association of University Women), a scrapbooking club, and North Winona Church of the Brethren where she served as the secretary for several years.
    Barb is survived by her husband, Don; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian Lee and Amie Rogers, Warsaw; a daughter and son-in-law, Michele Lynn and Michael Psalidas, South Bend, Indiana; her mother, Mary Elizabeth Young, North Manchester, Indiana; a sister and son-in-law, Donna Marie and Ed Sorensen, Warsaw; 4 grandchildren:  Alan Psalidas, Brycelyn Psalidas, Autumn Rogers and Lillie Rogers.
    Barb’s father, Rev. Lester Young, preceded her death on July 30, 2003.

    Mary D. Brown, 84, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 7 PM in her Warsaw, Indiana home. She lived most of her life in the Warsaw area.
    On May 6, 1924, in Noble County, she was born one of 12 children to Bert and Nina (Mayfield) Weeks.
    In Columbia City, Indiana, on December 17, 1949, she became the wife of William R. “Bill” Brown. She worked for Columbia Woolen Mill in Columbia City. She also worked in Warsaw as a tax preparer for Worth Tax Service. She retired from there in 1996 after 8 years of service.  Also in Warsaw, she was a faithful member of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church where she served as organist.
    She is survived by her husband, Bill; their son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Ann Brown, Akron, Ohio; 2 daughters and sons-in-law:  Susan and Robert Wine, Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Carolyn and Maurice Gunyon, Marion, Indiana; 6 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
    Mary was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.
    A time of sharing with Mary’s family and friends will be Saturday, March 7, 2009, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw and one hour prior to her funeral at the church.

    Born January 13, 1927 in Kosciusko County to Edward C. and Mary Grace (Harmon) Leedy, she lived all of her life in Milford.  She was employed by Sun Metal Products, Inc. in Warsaw, Indiana for 39 years retiring in January of 1989.
    Surviving are 3 daughters and sons-in-law:  Romona L. and Alan Schmucker, Nappanee, Indiana; Kathy E. and Arley Magner, also of Nappanee and Cindy L. and John Griffith, Fort Wayne, Indiana; a son, Bradley A. Taylor, Santa Cruz, California; a brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Mary Leedy of Etna Green, Indiana; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
    Preceding her in death was an infant son, Donald Bays in 1944, 2 brothers:  Robert Leedy, in August 20, 2005 and Norman Leedy who died during WW II; 2 sisters:  Mildred Schimming, May 13, 1994 and Wilma Bowers, April 13, 1988.
    A time of sharing with family and friends will take place Friday, March 6, 2009 from 11 AM – 1 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw with the funeral service following at 1 PM.  Pastor Norm Reimer of the Nappanee Missionary Church will officiate with burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

   William D. Johnson, Jr., passed away February 22, 2009 in his Warsaw, Indiana residence.  He was born November 16, 1967 in Wabash, Indiana to William D. and Cheryl (Flohr) Johnson, Sr.  He lived in the Warsaw and Silver Lake, Indiana areas all of his life. 
   He is survived by his daughter, Michele Johnson, Warsaw; mother, Cheryl Terry, Silver Lake; 3 sisters:  Stacey Miller, Warsaw; Jody Miller, Silver Lake; and Crystal Terry, Wabash; and his former wife, Barbara Johnson, Warsaw.
   Preceding him in death are his father, William D. Johnson, Sr., October 1970; step-father, Tommy Steven Miller, November 11, 1982; and his grandparents.

    Joshua C. Blair, 19, of Pierceton, Indiana passed away at 11:36 PM, Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City, Indiana.  Joshua was born to James C. and Regina (Gohn) Blair on September 17, 1989 in Warsaw, Indiana.  A lifetime Pierceton resident and a 2008 Whitko graduate, he had been a member of the Sunshine Society and SADD.  He was a great inspiration to others and will be loved and missed by his friends and family. 
    Survivors are his father and step-mother, James and Penny Blair, Pierceton; sister, Amanda Blair, Pierceton; Paternal Grandmother, Geraldine Blair, Warsaw; Step-brother, Jimmy Marsillett, Prestonsburg, Kentucky; Step-sister, Devonda Rahborg, Milford, Indiana; several cousins, aunts and uncles.
    Preceding his death are his mother and sister, Regina Blair and Chinnanne Adams on June 21, 1997; and his grandfather, James Blair, March 30, 2008.
    There will be a time of sharing with Joshua’s family Wednesday from 5-7 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw.

  Janet Arlene Roberts, 79, of Warsaw, passed away at 11:15 a.m. February 15, 2009, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw.
  She was born March 26, 1929, in Warsaw, to Donald and Omah (Miller) Curtis. On September 2, 1949, in Warsaw, she married Oliver Roberts Jr., who passed away January 8, 2003.
  She was a lifetime Warsaw resident and a homemaker.
  Surviving are two daughters, Linda (and husband, Stanley) Osborn, Warsaw, and Lana Crafton, Naples, Florida; a son, Terry (and wife, Karen) Roberts, Warsaw; four grandchildren: Shawn Smith, Dion Osborn, Nicholas Roberts and Melissa Strickler; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Tessicini, Pensacola, Florida; and two step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Shiela Hodges, who passed away March 29, 2005, and a grandson, Brandon Roberts, who died June 15, 2003.

    Helen Peterson, 83, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 11:20 PM in Harborside Healthcare, New Haven, Indiana.  Helen was born October 28, 1925 in Bourbon, Indiana to Forest C. and Hattie E. (Pomeroy) Listenfelt.  On December 14, 1942, also in Bourbon, Helen Listenfelt became the wife of Howard Peterson.  He passed away December 31, 2001.
    For 30 years along with her husband,  Helen was the co-owner of Pete’s Bar and Grill in Warsaw, Indiana.  She retired from there in 1995.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 49, Warsaw.  In 1998 Helen moved from Pierceton, Indiana to Fort Wayne, Indiana. 
    Surviving are 2 daughters and sons-in-law:  Ann and Dennis Erpelding of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Jackie and Russell Brown of Pierceton; 1 son:  Chris Peterson, Avilla, Indiana; 8 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.
    Also preceding her death was a son, Terry Peterson who passed away in May of 2000; 2 Brothers:  Miles Listenfelt and Lee Listenfelt and a sister, Viola Adams.
    A private graveside service will be held with Chaplain Tom Everest of the American Legion Post 49 officiating.  Burial will take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pierceton, Indiana.

    Eldon Pike, 87, passed away at 3 p.m. February 9, 2009, in Warsaw Meadows, Warsaw, Indiana.
   He was born July 20, 1921, in Rochester, Indiana to Ora and Farie (Wood) Pike. On November 8, 1947, in Elkhart, Indiana, he married Mary Truex, who survives in Etna Green, Indiana.
   Living most of his life in the Atwood and Etna Green, Indiana areas, he owned Pike Service Station, Atwood, for 26 years, retiring in 1983.
   Also surviving are two sisters, Wilma Draper, Warsaw, and Ilogene Seidner, Rochester; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Forrest Pike and Finton Pike, and a sister, Marilyn Young.
   A time of visiting with his family is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
   A celebration of the life of Eldon Pike’s life will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Dennis Bollenbacher of New Beginnings Church, Atwood, officiating. Burial will be in Stony Point Cemetery, Atwood.

    Anna Marie Vanderpool, 95, passed away at 2:20 p.m. February 8, 2009, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw, Indiana.
   She was born April 2, 1913, in Naples, Greenup County, Kentucky, to Amos and Ada (Kirk) Reffitt. On January 15, 1934, in Ashland, Kentucky, she married Fred Vanderpool, who passed away October 19, 1985.
   She moved to Silver Lake, Indiana in 1934 and to Warsaw in 1981. She was a homemaker, raising five children in her early years.  She later worked at Miller's Merry Manor for six years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of Eel River Church of the Brethren, Silver Lake, and attended Otterbein United Methodist Church, Atwood. She enjoyed her family, friends and neighbors.
   Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law: Ronald “Ron” and Dee Vanderpool, Warsaw; Richard "Dick" and Phyllis Vanderpool, Columbus, Ohio; and James “Jim” and Lenni Vanderpool, The Villages, Florida; a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Keith Evans, Warsaw; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Billie Hill, who passed away February 4, 1994; a grandson, Steve Hill, who passed away November 4, 1972; three brothers, Arnold Reffitt, Arville Reffitt and Johnny Reffitt; and two sisters, Mae Shepherd and Gladys Holbrook.
   A time of sharing with the family will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
   A celebration of the life of Anna Marie Vanderpool will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Jerry Thomas of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Atwood, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

   Frances Maxine Luft, 86, of Warsaw, died at 8:23 a.m. Feb. 7, 2009, in Bremen Health Care.
   She was born April 8, 1922, in Velpen, to Syble and Catherine Myers Goff.
   U.S. FlagMoving to Warsaw from Grant Pass, Oregon, she was manager of several restaurants and was a VA DOM volunteer for many years while living in Oregon. She was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran. PFC Frances G. Holsclaw served as a supply clerk with the 554th AAF Base Unit. She entered Sept. 11, 1944, and was honorably discharged Oct. 12, 1945, at Fort Sheridan, Illinois. She was recipient of the Good Conduct Medal.
   Surviving are a son, David (and spouse Darlene) Holsclaw, Warsaw; two grandchildren: Christopher and Jennifer Holsclaw, both of Warsaw; four great-grandchildren, Morgan, Skyler, David II and Miah Holsclaw; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three husbands; a brother, J.D. Goff; and her parents.
   Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military honors by members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126 and American Legion Post 49.

  Hester Abbott, 82, Warsaw, passed away at 4 a.m. February 5, 2009, at Mason's Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw, Indiana.
  She was born September 25, 1926, in Bonanza, Kentucky, to Henry and Rushie (Robinson) Yates.
  On November 22, 1943, she married her first husband, Clarence Wenger, who preceded her in death, March 18, 1979. On May 14, 1980, she married her second husband, Oscar Abbott, who passed away September 17, 1990.
  She lived in Warsaw most of her life. She worked at Jomac for 10 years, and for Da-lite Screen Company Inc. for 15 years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of First Brethren Church, Warsaw.
  Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Doug Smith, Cape Coral, Florida; a son and daughter-in-law, David "Joe" and Tracy Wenger, Warsaw; four grandchildren: Caleb Wenger, Cheyenne Wenger, both of Warsaw; Jason Funnel and Mary (and husband Bob) Schwandner, all of Cape Coral, Florida; three great-grandchildren, Kain, Kayle and Sabastian; two sisters, Lilly Hurd, Palestine, Indiana; and Hazel McFarren, Angola, Indiana.
  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Homer Yates.
  A time of sharing with the family will take place from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
  A celebration of the life of Hester Abbott will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw; with Pastor Dennis Bollenbacher, chaplain of Mason's Health Care and Rehabilitation Center officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

  Robert E. Plummer, age 87, went to be with his Lord Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 5:26 PM in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Indiana. Born November 14, 1921 in Etna Green, Indiana to Warren and Edith (Riggenberg) Plummer, he graduated from Atwood High School in 1939 and from Purdue University in 1943.
  U.S. FlagBob entered the US Army on April 9, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Attached to the 42nd Station Hospital, he served on Amchitka Island of the Aleutians Islands during World War II as an occupational consoler. Having received the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal, Tech 5 Robert E. Plummer was honorably discharged January 26, 1946 in Fort Logan, Colorado.
 On August 3, 1947, in Silver Lake, Indiana, Bob took Louise Ayres as his wife and lifelong partner.
Bob was a teacher of Science, Agriculture and Biology at Etna Green, Claypool, Leesburg and Warsaw schools for 39 years retiring in 1986. He also taught Veterans Farm Classes in Atwood. A part-time farmer, he drove a school bus and a farm milk route. He was a 4-H leader and a 4-H judge. An active member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Atwood, Indiana, he served as lay leader and taught Sunday School for many years. He was a proud member of the Purdue Alumni Association.
  Along with his wife, Bob is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Genyce and Ed DiRico, Winona Lake, Indiana; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Sandy Plummer, Fort Wayne, Indiana; and son Kevin Plummer, also of Fort Wayne; two Grandsons: Robert DiRico, Oak Park, Illinois and Adam Plummer, Fort Wayne; step granddaughter, Laura Hinton, Fort Wayne; two Great Granddaughters: Alexandria and Andrea DiRico at home; one Brother: Dennis Plummer, Warsaw.. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ellen Long on February 26, 1996.
  A time of sharing with his family will take place Sunday, February 1, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, Indiana. A celebration of Robert E. Plummer’s life will be at Otterbein United Methodist Church Monday, February 2, 2009 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Jerry Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Warsaw, at a later date.

  Georgina Herrera, 46, of Warsaw, died at 9 a.m. January 18, 2009, in her residence.
  She was born July 27, 1962, in Leon, Mexico, to Higinio Gonzalez Gonzalez and Miria Isabel Lara DelRinco.
  Moving to Warsaw from Mexico 20 years ago, she was a factory worker at Benteler Automotive, Goshen, for the past two years and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Warsaw.
  Surviving are a daughter, Claudia and husband Juan Reyes, Warsaw; two sons, Jeorge and wife Shandy Granados, Warsaw, and Ivan Herrera, at home; six grandchildren; and 11 brothers and sisters, all in Mexico.
  Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Warsaw, with Father Paul Bueter officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
  Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

  Robert "Bob" David Bruce, 87, passed away at 11:04 a.m. January 16, 2009, at Summer Regional Medical Center, Gallatin, Tennessee.
He was born January 20, 1921, in Verona, Illinois, to Edward D. and Betsie E. (Kilmer) Bruce. On September 23, 1944, in Warsaw, he married L. Miriam Irvine, who survives in Gallatin, Tennessee.
  U.S. FlagHe lived most of his life in the Warsaw/Claypool area before moving to Gallatin, Tennessee, in 2000. He was a manager for Allied Mills for seven years, manager and owner for Claypool Elevator for 18 years and a customer service specialist at Zimmer Inc. for 17 years before retiring in March 1986. He was a member of the Warsaw American Legion Post 49. As a member of Warsaw Wesleyan Church, he was a trustee and board member; he also was the Sunday School superintendent for 25 years. He was on the Claypool Town Board for 28 years and was a member of the Kosciusko Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals. On September 16, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio he entered the U.S. Army with the 1560th Service Unit. He served in the Tunisian and Sicilian Campaigns. He received the Good Conduct Ribbon and the EAME Ribbon with 2 stars. At Wakeman Hospital Center in Camp Atterbury, Indiana, on October 9, 1945, Tech 4 Robert D. Bruce was honorably discharged.
  Along with his wife, Miriam, also surviving are two daughters, Donna (and Kurt) Shoemaker and Leona (and Isaac) Green, all of Gallatin, Tennessee; two sons, Ronald E. (and Susan) Bruce, Warsaw, and Lynn E. (and Cheryl) Bruce, Holland, Michigan; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Bruce and sister, Myrtle Lee.
  A celebration of Bob’s life will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Warsaw Wesleyan Church with Pastor Lynn E. Bruce, Central Wesleyan Church, Holland, Michigan, and Pastor Brandon S. Bruce, Faith Church, Lansing, Michigan, officiating. Burial with military graveside honors from the American Legion Post 49 and V.F.W. Post 1126, Warsaw, will take place at Graceland Cemetery, Claypool.
  A time of sharing with the family will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.

  Lallie Marie Spradlin, 84, Warsaw, Indiana passed away at 11:35 a.m., January 13, 2009, at Four Oaks Nursing Home, Jonesboro, Tennessee. She had been visiting her daughter in nearby Telford, Tennessee, when she became ill.
  Lallie was born September 5, 1924, in Ivyton, Kentucky, to John F. and Occie (Stanley) Jackson. On January 11, 1940, she married Clyde Spradlin, who passed away April 29, 1982.
  She retired from ABC Industries Inc., Winona Lake, Indiana, where she was a machine operator. Lallie attended Lakeland Grace Brethren Church, Warsaw, and was a former longtime member of Sidney Grace Brethren Church. She was a resident in Warsaw for 75 years, coming from Kentucky.
  Surviving are three daughters: Betty (and Jim) Kyker, Telford; Mary Puckett and Nora (and Roger) Gelbaugh, all of Warsaw; two sisters, Imogene (and Chester) Caudill, Claypool, Indiana and Maxine Conley, Rochester, Indiana; a brother, Merl Jackson, Niles, Michigan; and seven grandchildren: Shawn (and Christy) Kyker; Keith (and Andrea) Kyker; Jeff (and Michelle) Puckett; Scott Puckett; Amy Puckett; Kelly (and Rick) Hurley; and Kevin (and Amber) Gelbaugh; 11 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, May Adams; and three brothers, Earl Jackson, Desmond Jackson and Harold Jackson.
  The funeral service for Lallie Marie Spradlin will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Dr. Brent Sandy officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

  Ona Catherine Rush, 61, of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2009, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana as the result of a stroke she suffered the prior Monday while at work.
  The oldest of four daughters, she was born June 9, 1947, in Atwood, Indiana, to Milton “Zeke” and Wilma Jean (Hedrick) Irwin. She had lived most of her life in Kosciusko County, Indiana. She was a factory worker at Da-Lite Screen Company, Inc. for the past six years, and had worked at Henny Penny Corporation in Eaton, Ohio for 10 years. She dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. Once you were her friend, you were always her friend. She always looked for the positive in everyone and everything. Ona enjoyed football – especially when Dan Marino was playing for the Miami Dolphins. She was a NASCAR fan with Rusty Wallace being her all-time favorite driver.
  She was preceded in death by her mother, Wilma Jean Irwin, on October 28, 1964; and her father, Milton "Zeke" Irwin on September 10, 2007.
  Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Mike Wilson of Leesburg, Indiana; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Shelley Boggs of Claypool, Indiana; six grandchildren, Robbie, Gage, Peyton, Christopher, Ashley and Nick; three great-grandchildren, Conner, Ireland and Cayman; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Rita and John Mohr of South Whitely, Indiana; Mindy and Art Carroll of Lake City, Florida; and Susie and Jerry Monroe of Leesburg, Indiana; Her fiancé, Jim Boggs of Warsaw, also survives. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
  There will be a time of sharing with the family Wednesday, January 7, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw.
  A celebration of Ona’s life will begin at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 8th, at Titus Funeral Home, with Pastor Jerry Thomas of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Atwood, officiating. Burial will be in Stony Point Cemetery, Atwood.

  Raymond L. “Ray” Smith, Leesburg, Indiana passed away peacefully at 3:30 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2009, in his home.
  Born May 2, 1938, in Rochester, he was the son of Henry “Hank” Smith and Bessie (McClain) Grubbs. He was married October 15, 1983, in Pulaski County to Judy A. Scheffer, who survives. The couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary October 15, 2008.
  Ray was a machine operator at Dana Corporation for 25 years and retired in 1994.
  U.S. FlagHe was a member of the Rochester Eagles Lodge 852 and North Webster American Legion Post 253. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy August 30, 1956 entering through Chicago. During his service to our country, he received the Good Conduct Medal for the period ending August 29, 1959. On August 29, 1960 at CamPen, California, HM3 Raymond Leroy Smith was honorably discharged. He then entered and served with the U.S. Naval Reserve until August 29, 1962.
  In addition to his wife, Judy, also surviving are his two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Brenda Smith, Goshen, and Jesse and Rhonda Bitterling, Star City; two daughters, Kendra Smith, Goshen and Michelle Hand, Syracuse; one daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Dan Wenzler, Star City; thirteen grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
  His parents and his beloved dog, Chelsey, preceded his death.
  There will be a time of sharing with the family Sunday, January 4, 2009 from 1 to 5 p.m. in Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, Indiana.
  A celebration of the life of Raymond L. “Ray” Smith will begin at 5:00 p.m. following visitation with Pastor Steve Peters, First Baptist Church of Warsaw, officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.

  Military honors will be conducted by North Webster American Legion Post 253.
