Cory Benz
Owner & Funeral Director

Cory Benz joined Titus Funeral Home in 2015 as a funeral director. He was raised on a farm just west of Fort Wayne and graduated from Yorktown High School in Yorktown, Indiana.

After graduating high school, Cory worked as a firefighter and EMT before going on to earn licensure as a paramedic in 2009. He worked at the former Multi-Township EMS in Warsaw. Having served many families in our community on the ambulance, he decided to fulfill a life-long goal by attending mortuary school to become a funeral director.

It was while attending mortuary school in Indianapolis that Cory experienced the losses of both his mother and of his best friend. This had a profound impact on him and “…opened my eyes to the grief which many families go through in their time of loss. Those losses generated an even greater desire in me to help others begin the healing process.”

Cory is a Warsaw resident who enjoys time spent on the lake with family and friends. He holds associate degrees in Paramedic Science and Mortuary Science. He also holds certification as a crematory operator and is a licensed life insurance agent, allowing him to assist families with advanced planning of funeral needs. Outside of work, Cory serves his community as board member for Stillwater Hospice(formerly Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice), Warsaw Morning Optimist Club, and The Baker Youth Club. He is also a past board member of The Magical Meadows Therapeutic Horseback Riding Center. Most recently, Cory was awarded the 2021 Young Adult Professional of the Year Award from the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce.

Cory has served families in Kosciusko County during all stages of life. He has a warm, kind personality and a natural affinity for providing compassionate care.

In 2019, Cory was invited to join the Life Celebration® Community, an exclusive group of funeral profession innovators and thought-leaders. This partnership has greatly impacted the way families heal through memorable and customized funeral experiences. This has completely revolutionized Titus Funeral Home’s approach to caring for families.
