Jerry Titus is proud to have been born and raised in Warsaw. He is a 1966 graduate of Warsaw Community Schools. He attended Ball State and IPFW (Indiana Purdue of Fort Wayne). He earned an Associate Degree in Mortuary Science in 1974 from Indiana College of Mortuary Science (Indianapolis). Jerry proudly served with the United States Army in Vietnam. He is a member of Warsaw's American Legion post 49 and a life member of its Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126. He is also a member of Disabled American Veterans.
Jerry is an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church. A life member and past president of the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club, he is also a past Indiana Lt. Governor and has served on many district committees. He was named Warsaw Optimist of the Year in 1980 and in 1983 was named Indiana Distinguished Optimist. Jerry is a member of National Funeral Directors Association and the Indiana Funeral Directors Association where he has served as district chairman and also has served on several of its committees.
He and his wife, Kathy, share 5 children and 11 grandchildren. He enjoys sporting events - especially motor sports where he has attended 50 Indianapolis 500 races and all of the NASCAR races run in Indianapolis. He enjoys woodworking, landscaping, is a diehard Cub fan and of course Jerry enjoys being a grandfather.
Kathy is a 1972 graduate of Plymouth High School. She also attended North Park College(University) in Chicago and earned an Associate of Arts Degree from Ancilla College in 1975. She was blessed to bean at home mom teaching up to 34 piano lessons each week when her children were little/young. As they got older and now living in Oldham County, Kentucky, Kathy fulfilled her dream of becoming a funeral director by attending Mid America College of Mortuary Science and was 1of only 5 women in her class. She graduated in February of 1990.
Kathy brings to their blended family 3 children: John, Kristy and Kevin Trzcinski. Over the years they would bless Kathy and Jerry with 7 beautiful grandchildren to cherish.
She enjoys playing the piano; but most of all she loves time spent with family and friends at their cottage on Beaver Dam Lake. Kathy is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she serves on the Administrative Board and participates in a Sunday school class.
Kathy began her employment with Titus Funeral Home in October of 1990. She is a member of Indiana Funeral Directors Association, Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky and National Funeral Directors Association. With Jerry and Kathy’s purchase of Titus Funeral Home in May of 2007 she appreciates being able to share this endeavor with Jerry. Kathy is thankful for the opportunity to do what she can to help relieve some of the stress that comes with the loss of a loved one.
