Wanda C. Wysong, age 79, of Albion, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026, in Warsaw, Indiana. She was born on June 6, 1947, in Marion, Indiana, to Ralph and Ruth (Thompson) Wysong.
Wanda graduated from North Webster High School, class of 1965. Her early academic achievements laid the foundation for a life marked by curiosity and engagement in her many passions. She turned her considerable administrative skills into a long career in Fort Wayne with Lincoln National Life, North American Van Lines, and finally the Kaiser Tool Company. She cherished and valued her friends deeply from growing up in North Webster and from those companies.
Those who knew Wanda remember her passion for Indiana University (IU) sports teams, and everyone knew not to call her during any game. Seeing IU win the college football championship this year brought her great joy. She enjoyed watching all tennis and golf matches. Wanda lived on a lake for much of her life, loved watching birds, and spent time on the lake with family and friends. One of Wanda’s favorite memories was touring Europe with her sister, Karen, as well as a trip to the 2011 Final Four in Houston.
She is survived by her sister, Karen (Garry) Miracle; her niece, Kirsten (George) Fink; great-nephews Arie (Christina) Gullett, Evan (Mercedes) Gullett, Quintin Fink, and Brody Fink; great-niece, Josie Fink; and great-great-nephew, August Gullett. Each held a special place in her heart and will carry forward the warmth and kindness Wanda so generously shared. She was preceded in death by her parents and her nephew, James Gullett III (Lee), whose memory she continued to honor throughout her life.
The family is grieving privately. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to your local Humane Society.
