Verdonna Lynn Yakimicki, 66, of Hoffman Lake, Indiana peacefully entered the presence of the Lord on September 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on November 1, 1958 at Murphy Medical Center in Warsaw, Indiana. She is now reunited with her cherished parents James and Patsy Bowser who preceded her in death. She graduated from Plymouth High School, Plymouth Indiana in 1977.

Verdonna furthered her education at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, Indiana where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing (Honors). She went on to earn a Master’s of Science Degree in Regulatory and Clinical Affairs with Honors at Grace College, Winona Lake, Indiana. Her dedication and commitment to nursing and nursing clinical research led her to various positions of increasing responsibility in Intensive Coronary Care (CCU), Ophthalmic Nursing, development and management of U.S. and Global Orthopedic Clinical Studies and new Orthopedic Product Development. She retired as Manager, Joints, Mitek and Power Tools; Knees from Depuy Synthes (Company of Johnson and Johnson) Warsaw, Indiana in June 2022.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Verdonna will be remembered for her vibrant personality, zest for life, kindness, compassion and attention to detail. She enjoyed travel, lake life, new experiences, baking, interior design, decorating, gardening, and spending cherished moments with her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, sister and brother(s), extended family and her beloved, personal friends for many years, Bev, Sue and Cindy.

She is survived by her loving husband and life partner Don Yakimicki, with whom she shared twenty-three wonderful years. Together they created a nurturing family that include Nicole Bowser-Gibson, Samantha (Landon) Lauber and Jeff Yakimicki. Verdonna celebrated the joys of family life with her eight beloved grandchildren and five treasured great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Cheryl (Gary) Antonich and brother James (Tammy) Bowser with whom she shared a special bond, as well as nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. In addition to Verdonna’s mother and father she is preceded in death and is now reunited with her precious daughter Amanda Huey, brothers Kevin Bowser and Steven Bowser, and two grandchildren.

Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services is entrusted with Verdonna’s care. Per her wishes, private services will be held at a later date.
