Tricia S. Kern

Tricia Suzzanne (Shepler) Kern, 52, passed away from cancer at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL, surrounded by family, on July 6, 2021. Tricia was born on June 8, 1969 to Ralph and Dixie Shepler.

She lived in Syracuse until 1999 when she and her then husband, David J. Dutka relocated to Florida where she worked as a Purchasing Agent for Whitney and Sons Seafood Company. In 2012 she married Daniel Kern who survives.

Husband – Daniel Kern of Illinois

2 Children - Travis (Ashley Hattan) Shepler & Taylor (Zach Heatherington) Dutka

3 Grandchildren - Harper, Paris, and Axl.

Two sisters - Teri (Bob Sebesta) Herman of Creve Coeur, IL & Elise Gans of Syracuse

Sister-in-law - Deb (Dave) (Kern) Hollingsworth

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 p.m. on July 24, 2021 in the Northwest United Methodist Church, 3800 West War Memorial Dr., Peoria, IL. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Jennifer Newcomer (Tricia's P.O.A.) 403 Rainbow Drive, Creve Coeur, IL 61610 to help with the cost of cremation and per Tricias wishes any donations collected after that will be divided between her children and grandchildren.
