IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Suzanne
Lattimer
January 13, 1940 – November 1, 2025
Suzanne Lattimer, of Leesburg (Lake Tippecanoe) and formerly of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Springhurst Health Campus in Greenfield, Indiana at the age of 85. She was born on January 13, 1940 to Floyd and Reba (Miller) Newton in Muncie, IN. She graduated in 1957 from Muncie Burris High School in Muncie, IN. Following her high school years, she pursued higher education and earned her bachelor's degree in home economics from Ball State University in 1961.
Suzanne worked as a secretary at Elkhart Community Schools, where she dedicated 15 years of her life. In addition to her work in education, she also contributed to the vibrant arts scene as an employee at the Wagon Wheel Theater, sharing her passion for the arts with many.
She cherished the lifelong friendships she built around the bridge table, where laughter, good conversation, and a little friendly competition were always in good supply.
She had a gift for bringing people together through her cooking, whether she was slow-roasting Italian beef, filling the house with the smell of Christmas cookies, or baking her famous blueberry pie. Her warmth will live on through those delicious recipes.
In 1999, Suzanne and her beloved husband, Michael, transitioned to the North Webster/Leesburg community from Elkhart, seeking the tranquility and beauty that the lakes offered. This move exemplified their love for nature and their desire to retire to the lake house Suzanne grew up in as a child. As long-time members of the Lake Tippecanoe Property Owners Association and the Tippecanoe Watershed Foundation, they embraced the joys of lake living and championed lake conservation efforts.
Suzanne is preceded in death by her husband, Michael, to whom she was married on June 4, 1960. Together, they raised a family that brought them great joy and pride. She is remembered as a devoted mother to her children, Lisa (Leon) Ford, Megan (Scott) Cain, and Brian (Michele) Lattimer. Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren—Allesha, Luke, Andrew, Brennon, Aimee, Ben, and Zach—and ten great-grandchildren, whom she loved.
Friends, family, and members of the community are invited to celebrate Suzanne’s life during the visitation on December 13, 2025, at the Titus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8056 East 500 North, North Webster, IN from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
