Sue Ann Cooper

Sue Ann Cooper, age 85, of Columbia City, passed away on August 31, 2026 in Warsaw, Indiana. She was born on July 25, 1941, in Columbia City to Harry and Marie (VanDeman) Boyd. She married Neil Cooper in 1959. They were apart for 24 years and then remarried in December 2008.

Sue Ann was a graduate of Columbia City High School, a milestone that marked the beginning of a life filled with devotion to family, faith, and the simple joys that brought her happiness. She was known for the many interests that enriched her days, including quilting and cooking, both of which reflected her caring nature and the warmth she shared with others. She enjoyed spending winters in Florida, traveling, visiting the National Parks, and cheering on Indiana University as a loyal fan. She also found pleasure in deep sea fishing, bowling, and attending church.

Above all, Sue Ann’s life was centered on the people she loved. She is survived by her husband, Neil Cooper of Columbia City. She also leaves behind her children, Candi (Randy) Perry of Columbia City, Mike (Linda) Cooper of Columbia City and Merri (Kevin) Frankle of Columbia City. Her family circle also includes her sister, Marilee Boyd of Columbia City; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The love she shared with her family will remain a lasting part of their lives and memories. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Tommy Boyd.

A visitation will be held from 9am-11am on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at New Hope Wesleyan Church, 971 N. 400 W. Columbia City, IN 46725.
