Stephen Reed

Stephen Reed, age 67, of North Webster, passed away unexpectedly in Columbia City on February 8, 2026. He was born on May 19, 1958 to Stanley and Harriet Reed. He was a cherished member of the Syracuse community, where he spent over 30 years working at Rinker Boats.

Stephen was known for his sweet and loveable nature. His sense of humor brought joy to many, as he delighted in telling jokes. A devoted sports enthusiast, he passionately followed Indiana University sports, the Chicago Bears, and the Chicago Cubs. He admired the racing career of Jeff Gordon and enjoyed playing pool at the Syracuse Eagles. His love for boating was evident in the time he spent on Lake Wawasee.

He was a proud member of the Sons of the American Legion member at the Syracuse American Legion Post 223 and a member of the Syracuse Eagles #3760.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Markie Reed, of North Webster, and his stepchildren: Matthew (Linsey) Richards and Ginger (John) Phillips. His legacy lives on through his step-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy—Bradley, J.P., Tony, Elizabeth, Carter, and Allison "Angel." Stephen is also survived by his siblings, Michael (Paula) Reed, Patricia (James) Kaufman, Roger "Bill" Reed, and Mark Reed, all residing in Syracuse.

Stephen was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Reed, in 2010, along with his parents and siblings, Carey David Reed and Jeffrey Reed. His absence will be profoundly felt by all who had the honor of knowing him.

His Life Celebration Visitation for Stephen will take place on February 12, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 4:00 PM. Both services will be held at the Titus Funeral Home in Syracuse, located at 1001 South Huntington Street, Syracuse, IN 46567.
