Shawn Matthew Varney

Shawn Matthew Varney, 24, of Goshen, IN passed away at 5:06 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was born on June 23, 1995 in LaGrange, IN to Clayton Michael & Tracy L. (Hicks) Varney Jr.

He was a lifetime New Paris / Goshen area resident and graduated in 2014 from Fairfield High School. He was employed at Dutchman Manufacturing in Syracuse for 2 years and formerly employed at K.M.C. in New Paris and Pat’s Chicago Dogs in Syracuse.

He is survived by:

Son – Cameron Roney of Goshen

Mother – Tracy Varney of Cromwell

Father – Mike Varney of Colon, MI

2 Brothers – Clayton (Angela) Varney III of Goshen & Dylan Varney of Cromwell

Maternal Grandfather – Larry Hicks Sr. of Arkansas

Paternal Grandmother – Julie Varney of Colon, MI

Maternal Grandfather – John Montgomery of Syracuse

Step Son – Kason Roney of Goshen

Beloved mother of his boys – Alexis Roney of Goshen

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother – Vickey Montgomery & paternal grandfather - Clayton Varney Sr.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. A Celebration of Life gathering will be from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30th, 2020 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN.
