Shawnee VanKirk

Shawnee Lynn VanKirk, 84, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, following an extended illness. She was born on January 22, 1942, to the late Warren Ulery Jr. and Doris Ulery.

Shawnee found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved gardening, cooking, and, above all, spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her kind and caring heart, her unwavering devotion to those she loved, and the countless treasured memories she created with family and friends throughout her life.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Robert A. VanKirk; her three sons, Brad (Nichole) VanKirk of Clarksville, Tennessee, Scott (Zoya) VanKirk of Fishers, Indiana, and Chad (Donna) VanKirk of Pierceton, Indiana. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to your local food bank, a cause that was close to Shawnee’s heart and one she would have deeply appreciated.

Shawnee’s love, kindness, and gentle spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of compassion, generosity, and devotion to family will never be forgotten.
