Sharon Baker (Severson)

July 30, 1941 — November 15, 2021

Sharon L. Severson Baker knew no stranger and no question was off limits. She always wanted to know where you were from and was very proud of her Wisconsin/Minnesota Norwegian heritage. Attending high school and college both in La Crosse Wisconsin, her Wisconsin roots shown through with her intense love for the Green Bay Packers, UW Badgers, beer and cheese curds. Once she relocated to the Hoosier state, she had a deep fondness for college basketball.

She was brilliant in life and her medical knowledge and dedicated 30+ years to the lab at KCH as a Medical Technologist. (She was a 4yr med tech-she would want you to know) She loved to learn and read–never without her kindle unless she misplaced it in the freezer. A talented gamer (Pacman World), quilter and knitter, there was always one of her scarves, pot holders or other projects she wanted to give you –or a bag of cheese curds. She loved to give–that was her love language.

The word that summed her up best was FUN. Most weekend nights you would find her and her significant other Phil whooping it up at the Barbee Hotel or the Legion singing and socializing with their dear friends. They also spent many a day on the golf course and traveling far and near to play their favorite courses.

Beloved mom and grandma, she never missed an opportunity to tell her children and grandchildren she loved them or to brag about their accomplishments. She was doing so to the nurses, up until the very end.

She fought hard till the end; “I love my Lord and my Lord loves me and he knows what is going to happen.” She was preceded in death by her husband-David L. Baker, her parents, brother and a grandson Mark Proksch.

Sharon is survived by her loving significant other Phil McIntire; daughters Angie (Mike) Miller; Jaimie (Justin) Mock; Step children Tim (Krista) Baker; Tina (Tim) Sullivan; Tony (Shanna) Baker; Grandchildren Colin, Jack, Evan (Vicki), Emma, Lewis Miller; Taylor, Ava, Addison, Evelyn Mock; Elyse (Josh)Adamson, Justin (Leanna) Baker; Cassie Baker, Jacob Baker, Chelsae Culp; Joe Sullivan; her great grandchildren; many of her very dear friends and her kittens she loved so. She will be missed beyond measure.
