Warsaw

Ronald Reid Reynolds, of Warsaw, passed away peacefully at Signature Healthcare of Bremen on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at the age of 80. He was born in Hillsdale, Michigan on May 24, 1943, the son of Frank and Dorotha Reynolds (Stemen).

Ron was a graduate of Reading Michigan High School and held a degree in Engineering from Purdue University.  He was a Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE) who worked in the manufacturing of a variety of tooling, orthopedic instruments, and steel producing items. His positions included training, purchasing, and management.   He was also one of the founding principles of the Ultrexx Corporation.  He also taught at Ivy Tech and other educational programs.

Beyond his work, Ron embraced life's adventures and cherished the joy of travelling to many different places. He had a passion for exploring new destinations and sharing these experiences with his family and friends. Whether it was snowmobiling in the winter or camping during the summer, Ron found solace in nature and enjoyed the thrill of outdoor activities.  Ron coached his children’s softball and baseball teams as they were growing up. He was always available to help any neighborhood kid or his extended family.  It is known that he and his wife, Ev, were always the family where you could find a hot meal, a loving hug, and a place to stay if needed.

Family meant the world to Ron. On August 28, 1961, he married his true love, Evelyn Jane Stump. He spent his life being a devoted husband, loving father, and caring grandfather. He always prioritized spending quality time with his family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Along with his wife of 62 years Evelyn, he is survived by his children Kimberly (the late Honorable Judge David) Cates of Syracuse and Ronald (Tracy) Reynolds of Warsaw; granddaughters, Abbigail Webb of Miami, FL, and Natalie (Sam) Hart of Nappanee; grandsons, Christopher (Sydney) Webb of Argyle, TX, Austin (Lindsay) Reynolds of Winona Lake, Jacob Reynolds of Los Angeles, CA, Samuel Reynolds of Warsaw, Jeremy Cates of Milford, and Jeryl (Alyssa) Cates of Warsaw; great grandchildren, Willow Webb of Argyle, TX, Olivia, Jane, Winston and Edmund Hart of Nappanee; and sister Rhue E. Hunsicker of Coldwater, MI. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who endear him and many saw him as  a “father figure”.
