Robert Wolfe Sr., age 92, of Nappanee and formerly of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, at Heritage House in Nappanee. He was born on November 22, 1933, in Willshire, Ohio, to Esparanza and Bertha (Bailey) Wolfe.
Professionally, Robert dedicated 27 years of service to NIPSCO, retiring in 1993 after a career. Known amongst his family as a "Jack of all trades and master of none," he was always willing to lend a hand and apply his diverse skills wherever needed, embodying a spirit of helpfulness.
After retirement, Robert and his beloved wife Donna embraced a life of adventure, traveling in their Holiday Rambler. Together, they explored 44 states, finding joy in camping and cherished moments spent in Leesburg, Florida.
Robert’s personal interests were many; he treasured fishing trips, was an avid NASCAR fan, and loved grilling, all simple pleasures that brought happiness to his everyday life. Above all, he loved his family deeply, nurturing strong bonds that spread across generations.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Wolfe of Nappanee; his children—Barb Grumme of Syracuse, Don (Kay) Wolfe of South Carolina, Jim (Jayne) Wolfe of Nappanee, Mert (Judy) Wolfe of Syracuse, and Bob (Brenda) Wolfe Jr. of Goshen. Robert also leaves behind a large and devoted family, including 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters Lucille Railing, Faye Foreman, Virginia Higgins, and Lea Jean McBride.
Robert was preceded in death by his grandson Chris Wolfe, great-granddaughter Valerie Reed, brothers Edward, Roy, Norman, Melvin, and Merlin, and son-in-law Ray Grumme.
Robert’s Life Celebration Visitation will be held at Titus Funeral Home of Syracuse, located at 1001 South Huntington Street, Syracuse, Indiana. Visitation will take place from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, May 1, 2026. His funeral will be held on Saturday, May 2, from at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastors Stan Owen and Adam Dunlap officiating, with burial at Syracuse Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Bob may be given to the Syracuse Church of God 104 E Washington Street Syracuse, IN 46567 or to the Caring Cove Hospice, 3120 N. Home Street Mishawaka, IN 46545.
