Robert "Bob" Wayne Schwartz, age 73, of Syracuse, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026. He was born on March 15, 1952, in Bluffton, Indiana to Hershel and LaVerta (Oldfield) Schwartz. He married Diana Hook on April 30, 1977 in Wells County.

Bob graduated from Bluffton High School in 1970, laying the foundation for a life characterized by dedication and hard work. He worked for several years in his father's Mopar dealership and honed his knowledge of motors and cars. Bob was very artistic and skilled at many things including woodworking, painting and drawing. He began his career by getting his barber's license and opening his own barbershop. Later in life he opened a carpet store and learned how to install carpet. He was constantly challenging himself to learn and perfect new things equipping him with skills that would serve him throughout his life. For many years, he proudly worked as the Buildings and Grounds Foreman at Chore Time Brock, where his expansive knowledge, commitment to excellence and problem-solving skills became hallmarks of his professional life.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bob was a man of numerous interests and hobbies. He found joy in the simplicity and thrill of water and snow skiing, relishing the great outdoors. His love for golfing provided him with opportunities not just for recreation but for spending quality time with friends and family. Bob possessed a creative mind, constantly indulging his passion for building and crafting, further reflecting his resourceful and inventive nature.

Bob is lovingly remembered by his wife, Diana Schwartz of Syracuse with whom he shared a profound bond. Their lives were enriched by the presence of their daughter, Lindsay (Vince) Beasley of Syracuse, who brought them immense pride. The joy of being grandparents was exemplified in Bob's life through his cherished granddaughters, Addison and Reese Beasley, who brought light and laughter into his world. He is also survived by his sister, Cindy (Jim) DeHoff of Markle, Indiana, who, along with other family members, will carry forward the memories of his kind spirit. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Hershel and LaVerta (Oldfield) Schwartz, who instilled in him the values that shaped his character and life.

Bob Schwartz will be remembered not only for his contributions in life but for the love he shared with his family and friends.
