Robert F. Johnson, affectionately known as Rob, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the age of 54. Born on November 5, 1970, in Ashtabula, OH, to Robie Johnson Jr. and Penny (Godfrey) Oviedo, Rob was a devoted family man. He was a skilled CNC programmer and machinist in the countertop industry and for Zimmer-Biomet in the latter part of his career.
Rob’s larger-than-life personality and quick wit brought laughter and joy to those around him. His passion for life was evident in his hobbies and interests, which included being a talented artist. Over the years, whether painting, drawing, 3D printing or woodworking, his creativity came from years of working home construction alongside his father in Prestonsburg, KY. The years spent working with his family in Kentucky heightened his carpentry and artistic abilities in many different forms leading to his passion for art. He was also an avid sports fan, particularly devoted to the Chicago Bears, and was a lover of Marvel Comics, with a special affinity for Thor. Music played a significant role in his life, spanning genres from classic rock to 80’s hair bands, as well as the smooth melodies of Kenny Rogers. Rob had a playful spirit, evident in his enjoyment of cornhole, his professional air guitar performances, and his mastery of the River Dance.
Rob’s family was deeply proud of his accomplishments. He married his beloved wife, Jennifer JoLynn Fuller, on August 21, 2003, a union that blossomed into a loving family. In addition to his wife, Robert will be deeply missed by his son, Tanner Layne Johnson; and his parents Robie Jr. and Donna Johnson. Rob leaves behind his siblings Shawn Johnson, Crystal Singleton, Tommy Richards and Jenny Johnson. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his cherished grandparents, Robie Sr. and Eukie (Slone) Johnson, and Betty and Carl “Bink” Godfrey; his cousins Rex and Tina Westerman, his brother-in-law Tony Singleton, and his mother Penny (Godfrey) Oviedo.
