Jimmie "Rob/Robbie", born on October 19, 1942, in the heart of Tuscarawas County, Ohio, peacefully departed this world on September 23, 2026, at Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital, surrounded by the warmth of his family. He was 83 years old, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, whose life was a testament to love and laughter.
Jimmie was the cherished son of Earnest Guy Robinson and Parlee (Pounds) Robinson-Kamban. His upbringing was filled with the love of family and the lessons imparted by his parents and stepfather, Martin Kamban. He was preceded in death by his parents, his older sisters Virginia and LauVerne, his older brother Guy, and several step-siblings, aunts and uncles, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories.
On April 17, 1965, Jimmie married the love of his life, Carol Jean Click. Together, they spent 61 beautiful years, sharing countless adventures and nurturing a family built on unconditional love. They lovingly raised their two children, Scott Robinson (Charity McCoy) and Whitney Robinson (Jeff Smith) (and every one of their friends they just adopted and loved as one of their own along the way), and found immense joy in the laughter and light of their grandson, Blaze Strouse. (And many more they have claimed as grandkids)
A proud graduate of Dennison High School in 1961, Jimmie's sense of duty and patriotism led him to serve in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1966, continuing as a reserve until 1969. As an Airman First Class, he served as what is now known as a Security Forces Specialist, demonstrating dedication and valor.
Jimmie's career as a mechanical design engineer was marked by innovation and creativity. He spent years designing farm equipment at Parkers before moving to Union Tool, where he designed conveyors and other complex machinery until his retirement. His contributions in these roles reflected his ingenuity and commitment to excellence.
Beyond his professional life, Jimmie was a man of varied interests and boundless energy.
He delighted in picking on his wife and working alongside her to create a beautiful home. Fishing with his son and teaching his daughter practical skills were among the simple joys that filled his life. Jimmie took great pride in spoiling his grandson and cherished every moment spent with family, playing cards, singing, and sharing laughter. Jimmie's artistic talents were evident in his love for drawing and painting, leaving behind creations like the iconic Short Stop gas station sign. A natural tinkerer, he enjoyed building things and found any excuse to indulge in his love for ice cream.
Known for his humor and candid honesty, Jimmie's infectious laughter and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His willingness to help others knew no bounds, and he lived his life with an open heart and a generous spirit. Jimmie Robinson's life was a rich tapestry of love, laughter, and service. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
