Ricky "Rick" Gene Lowry, age 71, of Leesburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at his residence. He was born on May 3, 1954 in Mentone, Indiana. He married Janet Holderman on September 5, 1989. She passed away on September 8, 2014. Ricky dedicated many years to his career as a truck driver, a role that allowed him to explore the open road and connect with individuals across the country.
Rick was a devoted family man, known for his unwavering love for his daughters—Jolene (Rodney) Cripe of Leesburg and Julie Swingle of North Webster. He found immense joy in his role as a grandfather to Legend Larmore of North Webster, Drew (Nyssa) Cripe of Columbia City, Sharlie (Brandon) Julian of Leesburg, and Billie (Bryant) Julian. His grandchildren, alongside his two great-granddaughters, were the absolute joys of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them, often sharing stories and laughter.
Loved deeply by all his siblings, Rick was not only a brother but also a source of strength and wisdom to his family. He had a zest for life that was unmatched, and his enthusiasm for NASCAR always brought a sense of excitement to gatherings, bonding him further with those he loved.
Rick Lowry will be remembered as a kind-hearted individual who touched the lives of many.
