Richard Capps

Richard David Capps, known as Rick to his family and friends, passed away unexpectedly on June 26th, 2023 at his home.

He was born on December 25th, 1973 in Muncie, Indiana to his mother Barbara (Emery) Capps and father, David Alvin Capps. Rick graduated from Muncie South Side High School and furthered his studies at UCLA and Ball State.

Rick worked hard to build a successful career and opened the John Perry Salon in Indianapolis with Amy, his best friend, and lifetime companion. He served as Manager for the salon and took great pride in seeing it thrive. Those who worked with him respected him greatly for both his professional skills as well as his care and support for them.

It was during high school that he met Amy (Cross) Capps who became the love of his life. They shared everything - including prom, college days - and later married at High Street United Methodist Church in Muncie on July 1st, 1995. Together they spent thirty-one happy years including fanatically attending Pacers, Colts, and Cubs games.

Sadly two months ago Rick lost the love of his life when Amy passed away on April 22, 2023 It is much to our grief to announce that Rick couldn’t bear this pain any longer than to live without her.

Rick is survived by his father, David Capps of Springport and nephews: Blake Miles of Greenwood, Alex Miles of Indy and Cameron Short of Pendleton. In addition to wife, Amy, his mother, Barbara (Emery) Capps and sister, Tina Lynn Short preceded him in passing

Titus Funeral Home of North Webster is entrusted with arrangements. A graveside service will take place at Mocks Cemetery in North Webster on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Noon. A time of fellowship will follow at Leesburg United Methodist Church, 111 W Prairie St, Leesburg following the service.
