Ranee Tom, age 49, of Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly in a vehicle accident on May 7, 2026. She was born on January 26, 1977 to Garry and Marie (Jehnsen) Tom in Goshen, IN. Ranee graduated from Wawasee High School in 1995. After high school she also earned her license as a cosmetologist. She had a love for babysitting and spent her early 20’s with an in-home daycare for many of years.
She was known as a fun-loving individual who cherished her family dearly. She also had a love for crafts especially painting. Ranee’s culinary skills were particularly celebrated during family gatherings, especially when she prepared chili and Thanksgiving meals that created lasting memories. She found happiness in the outdoors and had a special fondness for butterflies, symbols of beauty and transformation that echoed the grace she carried throughout her life. Evenings were often spent watching “Game of Thrones” and “Vampire Diaries” with her family.
Ranee is survived by her children, Alyssa Fannin of Syracuse; Hunter (Morgan) Magiera of Claypool; Elyse Sabin of Syracuse; Josie Sabin of Milford; Carma Hartsough of Syracuse; and Breeana Sabin of Syracuse. Her grandchildren, Fletcher, Elliott, and another on the way, brought her immense joy and pride. She was also the loving daughter of Garry and Marie Tom Sr. of Syracuse. Her siblings, Angelynn (Ron) Hensley of Syracuse, Tammy (Refugio) Ramirez of Leesburg, Garry (Missy) Tom Jr., and Tracy Mast of Syracuse, reflect the close family ties she held dear.
Ranee is preceded in death by her grandparents, Millard and Bertha Tom, and Ernest and Kathryn Jehnsen.
Ranee's Life Celebration Visitation will be on May 16, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service starting at 12:00 p.m at Faith Bible Fellowship Church (formerly North Webster Church of the Brethren), located at 7281 E 600 N in North Webster, Indiana with Pastor Mike Kendall officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Titus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8056 East 500 North, North Webster, IN 46555.
