Phil Bowser, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw at the age of 54. He was born on July 23, 1971, in Bremen, Indiana, the son of Jay and Frani Bowser. Phil was most known for his joyful spirit and beautiful smile.
He was one of the sweetest people God ever created, always full of joy and laughter. Phil loved the Lord wholeheartedly and it showed. He genuinely loved other people and was known for his remarkable ability to recall their names, ages and birthdays.
Phil was passionate about math, music and movies. He especially loved The Newsboys and Bruce Springsteen, with "Born in the USA" being his all-time favorite song. In his younger years Phil enjoyed roller skating, bowling, basketball, fishing and scouting. He also participated in Special Olympics. As an adult Phil’s pastimes included playing bingo, dominoes and watching movies. Some of his favorites were The A Team, Mrs. Doubtfire, Three Amigos, and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. He also was a fan of the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs.
Phil is survived by his loving parents, Jay and Frani Bowser; his sister, Angel Rummel; his niece, Savannah (Jonathan) McNair; and his nephews, Morgan (Miranda) Rummel, Isaiah Rummel, and Luke (Dasia) Rummel. Additionally, he leaves behind four great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joe and Blanche Urednick, and his paternal grandparents, Wilbur and Flora Bowser.
