Norman R. "Destroyer" Crites, age 83, of Warsaw, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, in Warsaw, Indiana. He was born on January 18, 1943, in Puyallup, Washington. His parents were Herman C. and Betty (Erpelding) Anderson.

Graduating from Eatonville High School in 1961, Norman began his career working on a dairy farm during his youth, where he developed a strong work ethic rooted in the land and simplicity of rural life. Later, he dedicated 31 years of his life to being a truck driver, a profession in which he took great pride, navigating the roads with skill and commitment that reflected his dependable character.

Norman was known affectionately as "Destroyer," a nickname that spoke to his tenacity and spirited approach to challenges. Beyond his career, he found delight in playing computer games, solving puzzles, engaging in card games, and even offering helpful directions, each activity reflecting his thoughtful and playful nature.

He is survived by his loving family: his son Shannon (Dawn) Crites of North Webster, Indiana, and another son, Dale Crites of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Norman’s family circle also includes one cherished grandchild who carries forward his legacy. Among those who shared his life’s journey is his brother, Charlie (Marnetta) Anderson of Lake Havasu City, who, along with his sons and grandchild, mourns his loss deeply. Additionally, Norman’s faithful companion, his cat Princess, was a constant source of comfort and affection.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, who laid the foundation of his values; his brother Larry Crites; and his granddaughter Shayleen Crites, whose memories remain a treasured part of the family’s story.

Norman R. "Destroyer" Crites will be remembered fondly and missed dearly by family, friends, and all who were privileged to know him. The family is grieving privately.
