Nickle Ray Baldwin, of Cromwell, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly in his home with his family by his side on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on January 5, 1958, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, he was the son of Clarence and Hilda Baldwin (Danger).
Nickle graduated from Lawton High School in 1977. After high school, he later joined the Army National Guard. He then dedicated his career to working as a machinist and welder at a tractor supply company. His strong work ethic and dedication to craftsmanship were evident in all he did.
On October 7, 1978, Nickle married Rhonda Bowler in Kalamazoo, beginning a partnership that would flourish over the decades. Together, they raised three sons: Anthony, Nicholas, and Scott. His love for family shone brightly in his role as a father and grandfather, a position he cherished immensely. Nickle loved his grandchildren—Bryanna, Garian, Lillianna, Brianna, Kyla Kamerynn, and Abby. He was also a great grandfather to Nathaniel.
Nickle was a diehard Detroit Lions fan; he didn’t care if they lost or won. In the wintertime, he has a Detroit Lions Santa hat that he wore all the time. He also enjoyed, fishing, hunting, and camping, a true outdoorsman. Most of all, family was most important to him, even though he loved to aggravate and tease them. His family will miss him deeply.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rhonda Baldwin; sons Anthony (Rachel) Baldwin, Nicholas Baldwin, and Scott Baldwin; grandchildren Bryanna, Garian, Lillianna, Brianna, Kyla Kamerynn, and Abby; great-grandson Nathaniel; and siblings Chuck (Vickie) Baldwin, Susan Baldwin, Mary Curtis, Polly Baldwin, and Annie (Mike) Gerry. Nickle was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Hilda Baldwin (Danger), brothers Don and Johnny Baldwin, sister-in-law Kathy Baldwin, and daughter-in-law Melissa Baldwin.
Arrangements for Nickle are entrusted to Titus Funeral of Syracuse. Friends and family may gather there, 1001 S.
