Nancy J. Shuttleworth, age 81, of Warsaw, passed away on October 19, 2025, at Miller's Merry Manor Assisted Living in Warsaw, Indiana. She was born on May 9, 1944, in Muncie, Indiana, to Kenneth and Margarete Shuttleworth.

Nancy's passion for education was evident throughout her esteemed career, where she served as the Director of Special Education in Illinois. Her dedication to nurturing the needs of children left an indelible mark on many lives, and her commitment to learning extended beyond her professional pursuits. She graduated from LaPorte High School and continued her education at Ball State University, ultimately earning her PhD from Loyola University.

An enthusiastic traveler, Nancy cherished moments spent camping, cooking, and entertaining friends and family. Her love for dogs brought joy and companionship to her life, reflecting her caring and nurturing spirit.

Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Peggy (James) Hill of LaPorte; her brother, Kenneth (Susie) Shuttleworth of Pittsburg; and her niece, Connie (Floyd) Mrozinske of Warsaw. She is also survived by nephews Mike (Shelia) Nelson of Blue Island, IL, and Jimmy (Karen) Hill of LaPorte, as well as great-niece Kayla (Mark) Jablonski of Warsaw and great-nephews Jared (Jenna) Mrozinske of South Bend and Tyler Hill. Added to this loving family are her great-great nephews, Jett Mrozinske and Jack Mrozinske, who will also remember her fondly. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Crane, her sister Patsy (Tom) Nelson, and her parents, Kenneth and Margarete Shuttleworth.

Her legacy of love, dedication, and compassion will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who knew her. Nancy J. Shuttleworth will be remembered as a vibrant soul who deeply impacted the lives of many, both personally and professionally.
