Nancy L. Coy, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Monday August 3, 2026, at The Waters of Syracuse at the age of 79. Born January 16, 1947, in Goshen, she was the daughter of Robert and Treva Plank (Culp).
She grew up in the Syracuse area and graduated from Syracuse High School in 1965. It was not long after her graduation that she married Richard “Dick” Coy on December 23, 1966. Together, they built a life anchored in love, raising their family and supporting their community in countless ways.
Throughout her life, Nancy embraced many roles with dedication and grace. She previously worked as a correspondent for the Goshen News, sharing stories from the community she cherished. Later, she served as a receptionist for The Paper in Milford. She also enjoyed her role as a homemaker.
Faith was central to Nancy’s life. She was a former active member of several congregations, including Syracuse Church of God, Westfield Wesleyan Church, and Syracuse Baptist Church. She loved going to church, and her passion for music found special expression in her playing the piano, both at home and as a pianist for church services. She also enjoyed gardening.
Nancy is survived by her children, Robert (Melissa) Coy and Russell Coy; daughter-in-law, Dawn Coy; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Jan (Corky) Wagner; as well as some step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dick, son Rick Coy Jr. and brother, Larry Plank.
