Morris L. Weyand

Morris L. Weyand, 89, of Leesburg, IN passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Paddock Springs Healthcare in Warsaw, IN. He was born on July 18, 1932 in Watseka, IL to Morris & Alice (Bliss) Weyand.

He graduated from Milford High School in Milford, IL, Indiana University in Bloomington, IN and was a United States Army veteran. He was married on November 8, 1957 in Kokomo, IN to Eleanor Jane Miller who preceded him on September 19, 2015. He retired in 1984 from Continental Steel in Kokomo as a sales Representative after 30 years and was the former owner / operator of Weyand & Associates in Kokomo. He lived most of his life in the Kokomo area before moving permanently to the Leesburg / North Webster 1997. He has been coming to the lakes for 40+ years.

He attended the United Methodist Church in North Webster and formerly attended the First Presbyterian Church in Kokomo. He was a member of the Tippecanoe Lake Country Club in Leesburg, American Legion Post 253 in North Webster, Masonic Lodge in Milford, IL, Elks Lodge in Kokomo, Rotary Club in Kokomo, Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, Kokomo Y.M.C.A. Board of Directors, Kokomo Planning Commission Member, and Scottish Rite in Indianapolis.

He is survived by:

Daughter – Jane Hizer of Indianapolis

Son – Morris “Marty” (Judy) Weyand of Speedway

Granddaughter – Amelia “Millie” Hizer of Bloomington, IN

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister – Sara Lockhart, and brother – Melvin Weyand.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Crown Point Cemetery, 1101 E. Sycamore St., Kokomo, IN with Pastor Joyce Harris officiating. Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN is in charge of arrangements.

Preferred memorials may be given to the Senior Primelife Enrichment Center (S.P.E.C.), P.O. Box 379, North Webster, IN 46555.
