Matthew Paul Shufelt

Matthew P Shufelt, a resident of South Bend and previously a longtime resident of Tippecanoe and Marshall County, passed away at Ernestine M. Raclin Hospice House in Mishawaka on Thursday, May 25, 2023. He was 48 years old.

Born in Joliet, IL on October 1, 1974 to Arnold Allen Shufelt and Vanessa L (Stone) Shufelt, Matthew was a graduate Argos High School. He graduated in 1993. Professionally, Matthew worked in manufacturing with Marshall-Starke Development Center and more recently with Corvilla.

He loved music of all kinds but especially of the 80s, Classic Rock and Classic Heavy Metal. He liked being outdoors and was rarely without headphones playing his favorite tunes. He also enjoyed time spent with family, especially his nieces and nephews. On TV he liked to watch WWE Smackdown and the classic Lone Ranger series.

Those who survive with memories to cherish include four siblings: Vanessa Lynn Stiles (husband, Robin), Arnold Shufelt (wife, Barbara), Michael Shufelt (wife, Candy) and Mark Shufelt (spouse, Estella). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in passing by his grandparents, parents and a brother, Eugene "Paul" Shufelt. Friends may join the family for a graveside service on Friday, June 16, 2023.

Those wishing to attend should assemble at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 Sheridan Street, Warsaw beginning at 1:45; the procession will depart just before 2 p.m. for Oakwood Cemetery.
