Matheus Vaz Guimarăes De Oliveira passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026, in the comfort of his home at the age of 30. He was born in Sao Paolo, Brazil on October 5, 1995, the son of Antonio Fabio Soares De Oliveira (deceased) and Luciana Maria Martins Vaz Guimarăes (mother). He is survived by his sister, Marcella Vaz Guimarăes De Oliveira, his aunt, Ligia Maria Vaz Guimarăes, and his American family, Diana Goshert (American mother), Jasmine Goshert (American sister), and Zachary Goshert (American Brother).
Matheus came to Warsaw, Indiana in August of 2012 as a foreign exchange student and stayed with his host parent, Diana Goshert. He attended Lakeland Christian Academy until June of 2013. He then went back to Sao Paolo, Brazil and graduated from Rio Branco High School in December of 2013.
His love for the United States brought him back to Warsaw to start college in August of 2014 at Purdue University of Fort Wayne. He lived with his American mother until his passing. Matheus graduated from Purdue University of Fort Wayne where he earned two degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. He was currently working on his Masters. Because of his amazing knowledge of electrical engineering and his extreme knowledge of computers and math, he landed him a job at PHD Inc. in Fort Wayne. He worked there for over 5 years, helping with several projects and considered everyone there his family. He loved the United States, and his dream was to become a U.S. citizen.
Matheus lived his life with such freedom and love. He was known for his big heart, caring for people and animals, his big bear hugs and his goofiness. Matheus hobbies were longboarding, travel adventures, music, race car driving and anything to do with cars. He loved taking his 350Z to car shows and his Porsche Boxter to the racetrack. He could spend hours in the garage working on his vehicles.
Titus Funeral Home is entrusted with the care of Matheus. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home, 2000 Sheridan St. Warsaw, IN.
Matheus did not want to be remembered with sorrow; he wanted everyone to live like he did and enjoy every moment. His American and Brazilian family are honoring his wishes and will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Friday, February 27.
Per Matheus’ requests, memorial contributions can be made to the Purdue Electrical Engineering Department. To leave a condolence, please visit www.TitusFuneralHome.com
