MaryAnn Ziegler

October 29, 1930 — February 26, 2023

North Webster

MaryAnn Ziegler, age 92 of North Webster, passed at home in North Webster on Sunday, February 26,
2023.

Born in Indianapolis on October 29, 1930, MaryAnn was the daughter of the late Hugh F. McComb and
Leona (Enners) McComb. She was a 1948 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis.
In the late 1980s, MaryAnn and Howard made the move to Webster Lake, having summered there for
many years prior. MaryAnn was a good steward of the community – she was a member of Lakeland
Kiwanis and attended North Webster Church of God. She was retired as church secretary for North
Webster United Methodist Church. Earlier in her working career, she worked as a bank teller in Alaska
and receptionist for Quasar in Indianapolis.

More personally, MaryAnn is remembered as a loving and loyal person. She enjoyed camping in
Michigan with her family and time on the lake. She was a girl scout leader for some time and was an avid
NASCAR fan; her favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt and later Dale Earnhardt Jr. She was an animal lover,
especially dogs, and was quite proud of her family.

United in marriage to Howard L. Ziegler, Sr. on July 23, 1949, the pair shared many happy years together
before his passing in 2011. She was also preceded in passing by her parents and a sister, Betty Scalf.
Those who survive include son, Howard Ziegler, Jr. (wife, Pattie) of North Webster; two daughters, Judy
Ziegler of North Webster and Beth Smith (husband, Kevin) of Hastings, Michigan; six grandchildren;
three great-grandchildren and a sister, Barbara Cline of Indianapolis.

Entombment will be held privately at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers,
gifts may be given to American Heart Association or the North Webster camp of Gideons. Written
