Mary Murphy

Mary M. Murphy, age 95, of Gilbert, Arizona, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026. She was born on January 1, 1931, to Riley and Donna Shepherd in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. She married Dan Murphy Sr. on April 2, 1952. She and her husband lived many years in the Warsaw community and also in Colorado.

Mary lived a long and fulfilling life, marked by her deep devotion to her family and her compassionate nature. Mary’s heart was always open to others. She found great joy in the Christmas holiday, relishing the opportunity to gather with family and celebrate togetherness. Her warmth and hospitality were expressed through her love of cooking, especially when preparing meals for those she loved.

Mary was also known for her special bond with animals. Throughout her life, she adopted and rescued both cats and dogs, providing them with loving homes and unwavering care. Her kindness and generosity extended to every creature she encountered.

Mary is survived by her devoted daughter, Deborah (Harold) Sutton of Gilbert Arizona, who cherished their close relationship, along with ten grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the pets she lovingly cared for over the years. Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Murphy-Green and sons: Dan Francis Murphy II and John Michael Murphy.

Mary’s legacy is one of empathy, thoughtfulness, and family. She will be remembered for her loving spirit and the warmth she brought to the lives of so many.

A graveside service is pending at this time. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, IN. Arrangements are entrusted to Titus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2000 Sheridan Street, Warsaw, IN 46580.
