Mary A. Meyer

Mary A. Meyer, a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Warsaw Meadows Health and Rehab where she received care for the last several years. She was 79 years old at the time of her passing. Born in Nappanee on August 3, 1944, Mary was the daughter of James Brock and Mardella Keister (Weaver). She attended school in Syracuse and made her home there also.
Mary is remembered for her spunk. She was fiercely independent and had a dry, sarcastic sense of humor. To those who truly knew her, she had a heart of gold and a deep love for her family - all of whom she was proud of, though she showed it in her own way. She enjoyed BINGO, reading and crochet - sharing her crochet items with friends and family. She also enjoyed collecting Beanie Babies and watching NASCAR, especially when Dale Earnhardt and Dale Jr. raced.
Those who survive with broken hearts include four children: Lonnie Godfrey of Kimmel, Kerri Keim(husband, Steve) of Syracuse, Shanda Ball (husband, Ray Grenier) of Nashville, TN and Travis Ball (wife, Beth) of Syracuse. In addition, she is survived by two siblings: Terry Brock of Goshen and Cindy Brock of Syracuse; 9 grandchildren: Talan Ball, Hilary Kohart, Jeremiah Godfrey, Llonna Godfrey, Jesse Godfrey, Kara Kelley, Quinn Kelley, Katie Mahaffa-Schaefer and Kelly Stuckman; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren - all of whom held special places in Mary's heart. She was also preceded in passing by son, Rodney Godfrey; daughter, Kimberly Conley; sister, Kathy Brock; brother, Butch Brock; grandson, Ryan Biggs; great-grandson, Logan Kohart and husband, Steve Meyer.
Titus Funeral Home of Syracuse is entrusted with care of Mary and her family. On Friday, March 29, 2024, friends gathered at the gates of Syracuse Cemetery to lay Mary to rest. Family will have a memorial service on April 28, 2024 from 1-4pm at the Sawyer's Country Edge 1205 N Long Drive, Syracuse, IN 46567. Staff will lead those in attendance to the grave where the service will begin at 2 p.m.
