Marshanna Hayes, surrounded by her daughters and left this world on May 7, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion. She was born to Russell Hayes and Jackie (Royce) Zimmerman on June 7, 1951. A graduate of North Judson San Pierre High School in 1969, Marshanna built a fulfilling career as a Certified Nursing Assistant, dedicating her life to caring for others and retiring from the Golden Living Center in Mishawaka in 2016. Throughout her years, she touched the lives of many as a caregiver.
Marshanna was a woman of strong character and independence, traits that defined her both personally and professionally. Her zest for life was evident in her wide array of interests and passions. She found joy in the freedom of riding her cherished Harley-Davidson. Fishing brought her great happiness, and she loved taking her beloved grandchildren to the zoo. Furthermore, she delighted family and friends with her culinary skill, especially when it came to her famous no-bake cookies, which will forever be remembered as a special treat. She took care of those around her, happily pouring into them and willing to give anyone in need anything she had.
Music was another love of Marshanna's life. She proudly enjoyed listening to country music and had a passion for dancing, often bringing joy to gatherings with her vibrant energy and infectious enthusiasm.
Marshanna is survived by her loving children: Beth Harrison of Warsaw, Tara Scott of Middlebury, and James Ludington. She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren and a cherished great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren. She leaves behind her five sisters Sherry Akers, Rita Bird, Devona Shriber, Rachelle Watt and Rashonda Colston and several nieces and nephews who adored their aunt Shanny.
She is preceded in death by her parents and triplet grandchildren, who will greet her with open arms. Marshanna Hayes leaves behind a bittersweet farewell, having impacted many lives with her nurturing and adventurous spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
