Mark DeWitt, age 60, of New Paris passed away unexpectedly on June 8, 2024 at Elkhart General Hospital.  He was born on December 21, 1963. He was a 1982 graduate of Wawasee High School and served as a first lieutenant in the National Guard.  He married Jill Patty on October 13, 1990.


Mark found true joy from spending time with his grandchildren, that he adored.  He loved the outdoors, enjoying fishing, gardening, golfing, and chopping wood.  He also loved days spent on the lake with family and friends.


Mark will be deeply missed by his surviving family members.  His wife, Jill DeWitt; children, Alexandra (Tyler) Johnson of Milford and Mitch DeWitt of Goshen; grandchildren, Ava, Emma, and Crue.  Also surviving are his mother Barbara DeWitt of Syracuse, sister Marti (Terry) Likens of North Webster, and brother, Mike DeWitt of Syracuse. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry DeWitt.


Visitation will be held June 13th from 4:00-8:00 pm at Titus Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington Street, Syracuse, Indiana.  His funeral will be Friday, June 14th at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be immediately following at Mock Addition North Webster Cemetery.
