Marilyn J. Cole

October 7, 1929 — September 27, 2022

Warsaw

Marilyn Cole, of Winona Lake, passed away at Grace Village on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at the age of 92. Marilyn was born on October 7, 1929 in Chancellor, SD, daughter of Albin and Winnidell Erickson. She later attended Dallas Bible College where she met and then married her husband, Robert W. Cole, on March 3, 1951.

A benevolent soul, Marilyn loved to serve others. She loved the Lord and was always active in her church; she and her husband had a ministry where they visited nursing homes and shut-ins, playing the piano and ministering to others. Marilyn’s greatest joy in life was her family, celebrating each family’s life events. She found such joy being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking and frequently treated family and friends with her homemade bread and pies. Marilyn loved music of all kinds and was proud of her Swedish heritage.

Those who survive with memories to cherish include her children, Timothy (Anne Marie) Cole of Jacksonville, FL, Mary Minner of Warsaw, Becky (Ree) Tschetter of Winona Lake, and Rev. William (April) Cole of Marshall, MI; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Mary K. Cole; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Robert; daughters, Marilyn M. Cole and Karen Cole; son, Robert A. Cole; son-in-law, Patrick Minner; siblings, Robert Erickson, June Crook, Lyman Erickson, and Larry Erickson.
