Lynn Alison Mansfield, age 82, went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2026. Her life was deeply rooted in her love for the Lord and her family. Born on July 7, 1943, she grew up in Long Island, New York. She was an outstanding athlete in both high school and college, excelling in tennis. Upon graduating from Oneonta State University in upstate New York with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, she spent four years teaching fourth grade in Schenectady, New York. To continue her passion for education, she earned a Master’s degree in Christian Education from Wheaton College, Illinois. Upon graduation she became a head resident at Taylor University. She and Jim married on June 5, 1971 and moved to Leesburg, Indiana.
Lynn had three passions in life. One was teaching children to read. She worked for the Warsaw Community Schools for 19 years, both as a substitute teacher and later as the school nurse at Edgewood Middle School. She and her husband, Jim, shared a lifelong passion for gardening, spending many years canning and freezing homegrown fruits and vegetables. Her greatest passion and the love of her life was her four boys and their families. Lynn was an outstanding mother who both encouraged and inspired those she came in contact with. She and Jim were happily married for 55 years. She remained true and faithful to the Lord and finished her course.
Lynn is lovingly survived by her husband, Jim Mansfield of Leesburg; her sons David (Cari) Mansfield of Roanoke, Andrew Mansfield of Fort Wayne, Jon Mansfield of Fort Wayne, and Peter (Amanda) Mansfield of Aledo, Texas; and her cherished grandchildren Dawson, Luke, Wyatt, Cooper, and Jude. She also leaves behind her brother, Peter (Joy) Riefler of Rhode Island.
Lynn’s Life Celebration will be held at the Titus Funeral Home in Warsaw, Indiana located at 2000 Sheridan Street, on Saturday May 16, 2026. The visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A memorial service will immediately follow at the same location starting at 4:00 PM. She will be laid to rest at Leesburg Cemetery.
