Lucinda Joan Kirch, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025 in Syracuse, Indiana. She was born on November 13, 1936, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Charles Hardin Ellis and Ruth Pickhardt Ellis. Cinda’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, family, and a passion for fashion that never faded.

Cinda was a proud graduate of Carmel High School, Class of 1954, and pursued higher education at Hanover College. During her time at Hanover, she was an active member of the Phi Mu sorority, forming lifelong friendships and memories that she cherished dearly.

In 1962, she met the love of her life, John J. Kirch, with whom she shared a remarkable 54 years of marriage until his passing in July 2021. Their love story was one for the ages, filled with joy, laughter, and unwavering support for one another and love of family.

Cinda dedicated most of her professional life to the William H. Block Company, where she worked as a buyer purchasing women’s fashion apparel. In 1976, she retired to devote her time to her beloved family. Family was always her priority, and she poured her heart into nurturing her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, becoming a matriarch who inspired all around her.

Cinda's unwavering spirit and grace were evident in all she did. her style was timeless and elegant. Beyond her love for fashion, she enjoyed spending her time in book clubs, engaging in needlepoint, and creating cherished memories with her 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Cinda is survived by her loving daughter, Kelly Kirch Johannes (Paul Marks) of Jasper, Indiana, grandson Christopher Johannes (Shan Sherwin), granddaughter Kaitlyn (Richard) Gray and great granddaughter Aubrey. Also granddaughter Alexia (Damon) Pace and great granddaughter Lucinda Kathleen and grandson Nick Johannes.

She is also survived by her devoted son, David Kirch (Mimi Haan) of Syracuse, Indiana, granddaughter Alex (Michael) Blackwell and great grandson Louis, granddaughter Olivia (Dylan) Lisec and great granddaughter Ruth and grandson Austin Kirch.

In addition, Cinda is survived by sisters Margie (Smith) Hammelrath, Kathryn (Michael) Moore, cousins David (Marsha) Pickhardt and sister in law Alma (John) Holloran. She leaves behind a legacy of love, grace, strength that will continue to inspire her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Arrangments are entrusted to Titus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1001 S. Huntington Street, Syracuse, IN 46567. Calling begins at noon, October 25, 2025 at Crown Hill Cemetery 700 W 38th St., Indianapolis. A Celebration of Life service led by Rev. Richard Clough will follow. Friends and family are invited to stay for a lunch at Celebration Hall (same building) and honor the remarkable life of Lucinda Joan Kirch.

She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her loved ones. May she rest in peace, knowing the profound impact she had on those around her.
