Lorraine Carson

Lorraine P. Carson, of North Webster, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at South Bend Memorial Hospital at the age of 78. Born on July 18, 1947, in Goshen, she was the daughter of Vernon and Dora McGill (Liebert). Lorraine's life was marked by her dedication and her warm, adventurous spirit.

Lorraine was a 1965 graduate of Syracuse High School. Early in her career, she served as a nurse’s aide at Goshen Hospital from 1970 to 1973. She later devoted many years to managing restaurants including Gropp's Fish and Stroh and Oakwood, where she was well known and respected for her personable approach. Most recently, Lorraine continued her commitment to caring for others as a caregiver, touching many lives with her empathy and generosity.

Beyond her professional achievements, Lorraine was deeply involved in her faith and community. As a chaplain for the Syracuse American Legion Post 223 Auxiliary, she provided comfort and spiritual support to those around her. She was an active participant in bible study and a dedicated member of Clunette United Methodist Church. Her passion for baking was well-loved by friends and family alike, and her adventurous spirit was evident in the many journeys she took alongside her close friends.

Lorraine was a true people person, loved not only for her willingness to lend a helping hand but also for her infectious enthusiasm and zest for life. Her presence is one that will be sorely missed by all who know her.

Lorraine is survived by her three children: Steve (Kelly) Carson, Tom Pfeiffer, and Tausha (Alex) Borchers; grandchildren, Joshua (Isabelle) Carson and Jacob (Karleigh) Carson, as well as her great-granddaughter, Klover Carson. She also leaves behind her sister, Donna Blough; half-brother, Randy Burkholder; and uncle, Bob McGill. Her parents, her husband, Paul Carson, and half-brother, Terry McGill, preceded her in death.

Titus Funeral Home of North Webster is entrusted with the care of Lorraine. The memorial gathering will be held at Clunette United Methodist Church, 4227 W 600 N, Leesburg, IN 46538 on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm with the service beginning at Noon.
