Lloyd L. Slabach, age 89, of Syracuse, passed away on August 24, 2026 in Syracuse, Indiana. He was born September 15th, 1936 to Abraham and Lena (Miller) Slabach in New Paris, Indiana. Lloyd married Deborah Myers on February 19, 1993. Lloyd lived a life marked by dedication, discipline, and a deep enjoyment of the pursuits he loved most. A 1954 graduate of Topeka High School, he carried a strong work ethic throughout his life, a quality that defined him both personally and professionally.

Lloyd was a veteran of the United States Army, with his last year of service in 1958. His years of military service reflected the courage and resolve that remained part of his character throughout his life. That adventurous spirit could also be seen in his years as a paratrooper, during which he completed 46 jumps. In one of his proudest accomplishments, he performed a free fall jump on his 85th birthday, a remarkable reflection of his determination and love of challenge.

Professionally, Lloyd worked for Prudential Life for a decade before becoming an independent insurance agent. He approached his work with commitment and integrity, building his career through steady effort and perseverance. Outside of work, Lloyd found great joy on the golf course. He was an avid golfer who golfed every day, embracing the game as a daily pleasure and a lasting passion.

Lloyd will be remembered by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Slabach; his sons, Timothy (Kathy) Slabach and Christopher (Alison) Slabach; his daughter, Angela (Randy) Gallmyer; his step-sons, Chad Burnworth and Ryan Burnworth; his brother, Wayne (Marilyn) Slabach; and his sister-in-law, Lynette Slabach; grandchildren, Jessica Crawley, Brandon Slabach, Kirsty Murphy, Colin Slabach, Corrine Sisson, Joshua Gallmyer, Jamie Beck and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Wilbur and Glen Slabach and two half-brothers Robert and Stanley Borntrager. May Lloyd’s memory bring comfort to his family and remain a blessing to all who knew him.
