Larry Embry, passed away on July 13, 2024, at his home on Barbee Lake. He was born on March 14, 1947 in Marion, IN to Shelby Ray and Elizabeth (Lee) Embry. Larry was a graduate of Fairmount High School and his formative years in Grant County. Larry honorably served during the Vietnam War. He served in an Artillery Division, sacrificing much of his hearing in service to his country. He was a member of the Howard County Vietnam Veterans Organization.
Professionally, Larry spent 38 years with RCA/Thompson Consumer Electronics. He was a hard worker and a dedicated employee, working there until they closed. More personally, Larry enjoyed traveling with his wife on cruises, fishing, frogging, during his youth, and spending his winters in Gulf Shores, AL.
Larry was married to Shirley (Felabom) Embry on November 23, 1969. Shirley survives at home with 54 years of marriage. Also surviving with memories to cherish are two sons: Jason (Sherry) Embry of Ashland, Oregon and Jeremy (Machelle) Embry of Leesburg, Indiana; 7 grandchildren - two of whom reside locally: Tussha & Heather and 7 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings: Diana (James) Ancil & Neal Embry. He was preceded in passing by his parents.
Titus Funeral Home & Cremation Services 8056 E. 500 North is entrusted with care of Larry. A private graveside service will take place at Marion National Cemetery in the coming weeks.
