Kevin W. Weikart, of Claypool, passed away at Lutheran Hospital on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the age of 52. Born on August 24, 1972, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Kevin led a life that embodied dedication both to his work and his family.
As a heavy equipment operator for Local 150, Kevin was known for his industrious spirit. Colleagues and friends alike regarded him as "a good guy," whose passion for hard work was matched only by his love for those closest to him. Outside of his career, Kevin cherished his role as a husband and father, and he found immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren. He was in the process of building a playground for them—a testament to his love for his grandchildren.
Kevin's interests were diverse and vibrant. He had a heart of a lumberjack, often found immersed in his woodwork projects or tending to his garden, always keeping himself busy with tasks that brought him joy and fulfillment like working on his tractor.
Kevin leaves behind a loving family that includes his wife, Stacy; children, Spencer (Randie) Weikart, Whitley (Danny) Lahmeyer, Priscilla (Christopher) Phillips, Kevin Weikart, and Courtney (Colton) Huff, along with his adored grandchildren, Kaiden and Gracelyn Phillips, Ruthy Huff, and Crimson and Caspian Wenzlick. He is also survived by his mother, Ann Huff; brothers, Jimmy (Michelle) Weikart and Christopher (Melissa) Weikart; sister, Abbey Haddix, and his puppy Belle. Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Patrick; daughter Ashley; and first wife, Ruth Ann.
Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services is entrusted with Kevin's care. The family is grieving privately, and no services are planned.
