Kenneth Lee “Ken” Mathews, age 80, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis. Born on October 6, 1944, in Milford, Indiana, he was the son of Albert and Erma (Smith) Mathews. Ken attended Milford Schools and was a proud graduate of Milford High School.
Ken was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent much of his life in the body and paint industry, including many years working in the RV sector. He owned and operated his own body shop, where his craftsmanship and work ethic earned him the respect of many.
With a calm and steady nature, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures and treasured the time spent at home surrounded by his family. Whether grilling in the backyard, mowing the lawn, or enjoying a good project car, he embraced every moment with a calm and steady spirit.
Ken also had an adventurous side and made fond memories traveling with loved ones. Some of his favorite experiences included surfing, parasailing, and windsurfing—always eager to try something new and make the most of life.
Ken is survived by his devoted wife, Diann Mathews, and his three sons: Cary (Beth) Mathews, Brent Mathews, and Scott (Brandy) Mathews. He was a proud grandfather to Madalyn, Nicole, and Lainey, all of whom brought great joy to his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Mathews and Erma (Smith) Mathews.
Ken will be remembered for the love he shared with those closest to him. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind.
Ken’s care was entrusted to Titus Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Syracuse. He was honored in a private gathering of close family and friends, with burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery on Bowser Road in Milford.
