June Laudeman

June C. "The Rose Lady" Laudeman, 93, of Syracuse, IN died at 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 11, 2009 in The Maples At Waterford Crossing in Goshen, IN. She was born on June 19, 1916 in Milford, IN to Irvin L. and Della (Gilbert) Coy.

She was a lifetime Kosciusko & Elkhart County area resident. She graduated in 1934 from Milford High School and in 1964 from Manchester College with her Bachelors Degree. She also attended Indiana State University for graduate courses. On May 19, 1945 she married Robert L. "Bob" Laudeman who survives. She retired as a school teacher after 33 years and substituted 17 more years for a total of 50 years in Milford, Syracuse, Warsaw, New Paris, Millersburg, & Fairfield Schools. She also taught in Wabash & Huntington Counties.

She was a member of the St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Syracuse, where she served in the Samaritan Service Guild, Naomi Circle, Thrift Shop & Chancel Choir. She was active in the Ladies of the Round Table Literary Club and volunteered for Friends of the Library in Syracuse and Avon Park, FL. She was well known since 1973 as "The Rose Lady" because of the amount of flowers that she gave away. She was also known for her financial support of the Syracuse Community Center and Syracuse-Wawasee Parks Foundation.

She is survived by:
Husband - Bob Laudeman of Goshen, IN;
1 Son Max (wife, Janet) Laudeman of Syracuse, IN;
1 Granddaughter - Victoria Laudeman of Seattle, WA.

She was preceded by her parents, 2 sisters - Melba Sparklin & Florence Clem

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN with Rev. Michael Neff officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Milford Cemetery in Milford, IN.
