John Richard (Dick) Sutton, 92, passed away on September 5, 2025, in North Webster, IN, surrounded by his loving family. Dick was born on August 19, 1933 in Kendallville, IN, to John R Sutton Sr. and Helen (Saemann) Sutton. He is survived by his loving wife Kay (Wible) Sutton, his kids, grandkids, great grandkids, sister Kathryn Meibers and brother Gary Sutton.

Dick graduated from Kendallville High School in 1951 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Psychology, with a minor in Business from Hanover College in 1955. He was a proud member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He served in the Navy from 1956-1958. Dick dedicated over 30 years of his professional life to a successful career as an insurance executive with Prudential, where he built lasting relationships and earned deep respect. After retiring, he continued his passion for helping others by founding Sutton Financial Services, where for another 30 years, he generously shared his wisdom-serving, guiding, and mentoring countless individuals and small business owners. His work wasn't just about business, it was about people, purpose, and making a difference.

Dick married Kay Wible Sutton on October 4, 1959 at Zion Lutheran Church in North Manchester, IN. They would have been married 66 years next month. They first met working at Central Soya in Ft. Wayne and were engaged three months later. Dick and Kay were blessed with three wonderful children and their spouses: Mark (Mary) Sutton; Todd (Jaymi) Sutton; Julie (Lalo) Davila, along with seven grandchildren: Alyssa, Katie (Joe), Alec (Kaley), Jennifer (Josh), Tanner (Nicole), Danielle (Andrew) and Marisa, along with six great-grandchildren: Adelaide, Beckett, Logan, Fletcher, Liam and Tripp.

Dick found true joy in being present for his kids' and grandkids' lives. He was deeply proud of them and enjoyed cheering them on at games, performances, and activities, supporting their passions wholeheartedly. Some of his most cherished memories were made together at the lake, during Christmas celebrations, on the golf course with family, and his most favorite time was when family was all together.

Dick also loved his Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, traveling the world with his wife Kay and was best known for his love of Barbershop Music for 62 years (Chain-O-Lakes Chorus and the Kansas City Heart of America Chorus), singing in the church choir, Greentown and St. Clair glass, playing bridge and golf, WWII and Western movies and lastly, going alone in Euchre with no bowers.

Dick is preceded in death by his parents John Sr and Helen Sutton and grandson Bradley Sutton.
