Joan King, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026, in her son’s home surrounded by her family. Born on November 13, 1932, in Warsaw, Joan lived a long and fulfilling life that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Throughout her 93 years, Joan displayed her devotion to her family, earning the admiration and love of those around her with her warmth and selflessness. She was the daughter of John and Anna Bowser (Beatty), both who preceded her in death. Joan's early years shaped her spirit and strength that she carried into adulthood and passed on to her children and grandchildren.
Joan married Richard D. King on June 24, 1950, embarking on a partnership grounded in love and shared dreams. They were devoted to each other until Richard’s passing in 2013.
A homemaker for most of her life, Joan dedicated herself wholeheartedly to nurturing her family and home. Her love for family was endless and she found the greatest joy in spending time with them, getting together for holidays and family dinners.
Known as the “dessert queen,” she enjoyed preparing sweets and meals, often bringing loved ones together around the table. Her interests extended far beyond the kitchen; reading brought her comfort, and she never missed a chance to shop or browse garage sales. Faith was the cornerstone of her life, attending church both online and in person.
Joan leaves behind her children, Debbie (Larry) Steller, Dick King, and John King. She was the proud grandmother of Kelly Jo, Kory (Amber), Tammy, Tracy (Jimmy), Ridley, Jodie, Joshua, Jared, Jeremy, Ashley, Anna, Amanda, Abby, and Amber (Jon) along with 32 great grandchildren and 24 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by her parents, husband, daughter, Rita, five sisters and two brothers, and great grandchildren Griffin and Jensen.
Friends and family may gather for visitation on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 from 12:00 pm until the funeral service at 1:00 pm at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 Sheridan St. Warsaw, IN 46580. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Oakwood Cemetery.
