Jerry Wayne Craig, of North Webster, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne at the age of 71. Born on September 2, 1953, in Kentucky, he was the son of Wayne and Elsie Craig (Hubble). Jerry led a life marked by dedication to his career and love for his family.

After attending Greenfield High School, Jerry embarked on a journey that led him to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, ultimately serving for 10 years. Beginning his military career in Infantry, he transitioned into military police, where his commitment to duty and law enforcement flourished.

Jerry dedicated 15 years of his life to the role of town marshal for North Webster, an appointment reflecting both his passion for his community and his steadfast character. Known for his simple demeanor and as a great storyteller, he captivated many with his tales and shared experiences, making lasting impressions on those fortunate enough to know him.

Jerry’s passion for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies; he loved hunting, particularly morel mushroom hunting, and had an interest in firearms and shooting. He also loved to spend time on the pontoon out on the lake and watching John Wayne and military movies.

On April 16, 1986, Jerry married the love of his life, Cathy Craig (Kershner). Together they created a beautiful bond, and a shared life enriched with love. She preceded him in death in January of this year. His family, though forever altered by their loss, continues to hold close the memories and experiences they shared. Jerry is survived by his stepson, Seth Nestleroad; his nephew, Terry Craig II; and his niece, Hannah Brewington. He was preceded in passing by his parents, his wife and his brother, Terrell Craig I.
