Jeffrey James Shelton Sr., of Warsaw, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Parkview Randallia in Fort Wayne at the age of 74. Born on October 24, 1950, in Anderson, Indiana, to James and Barbara Shelton (Doty).

One of Jeff’s fondest memories was visiting Brown County, a special place where he proposed to his beloved soulmate, Cindy. The two were married on May 24, 1980. Together, they spent their lives raising their 3 children and caring for one another.

Jeff dedicated many years of his life to his profession as a maintenance mechanic at Zimmer, where he retired after an impressive 26 years. He also was previously employed at Dalton Corporation, Dana and General Motors.

Jeff was known for his remarkable intelligence, which he often shared with those around him, and his extensive knowledge made him a respected figure among his peers and community. His early years were filled with adventure as he traveled extensively, exploring various places and cultures, which enriched his life and the lives of those who knew him. In his leisure time, Jeff found joy in a variety of hobbies. He had a strong passion for boating and the lake. Music also played a significant role in his life; he was an avid lover of bluegrass music and demonstrated his talent by playing the banjo, among other instruments. Jeff was also an avid lover of antique cars and corvettes.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cindy Shelton; his children, Jeffrey James Shelton Jr., Kent (Tonya) Coldren, and Lesa Thomas; his grandchildren, Aaron Prater, Brandon Coldren, Hanah Ricketts, Lincoln Haupt, and Ella Solloway; his great-grandson, Travis Prater; his sister, Cynthia (Terry) Walsh; and his fur baby, Muffin. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Barbara Shelton (Doty); his sister, Jennifer Shelton; and his brother, Tom Shelton.
