Winona Lake

Jeffrey Alan Reichert, known to many as Jeff, passed away at Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis on March 17, 2024. He was born in Fort Wayne to Donald C. and Maybelle (Erne) Reichert.

Growing up in Fort Wayne, Jeff graduated from Elmhurst High School before going on to earn an Associate’s Degree. He spent much of his professional life in construction, ensuring the safety and quality of large building projects as an inspector. His work included contributing to the construction of several Walmart stores and other significant projects.

Outside of work, he had a passion for WWII history and airplanes, often immersing himself in books on these subjects along with Science Fiction. He was an avid reader and had a large film library. He also enjoyed watching YouTube postings on those subjects as well as camping and outdoor survival.

But above all, Jeff cherished spending time with his family and friends on biannual camping trips.
Each spring and fall, he eagerly awaited camping escapades with his friends and later, his grandsons. The adventures at "Trout Camp" in the spring and "Fall Camp" in autumn brought immense joy to him as he connected with his loved ones amidst the beauty of nature.

Jeff leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and love for his family. He is survived by his wife, Theresa (Fleer) Reichert to whom he was married on October 14, 1995. He is also survived by Larissa Godat, Derek (Brandi Davis) Godat and Morgan (Amber) Godat each of whom he considered as his own children and by four grandchildren: Spenser, Jacob, Lucas, and Paloma of whom he was very proud.

He was preceded in passing by son, Eric Reichert; daughter, Erin Reichert and his parents: Donald and Maybelle Reichert.

Titus Funeral Home, 2000 Sheridan Street is entrusted with care of Jeff Reichert. The family is currently grieving privately and will plan services later.
